Hyundai has recently announced the discontinuation of the 1.6L Turbo engine option for the 2025 Tucson due to low sales, shifting focus to the popular hybrid variants.
This change is currently specific to the Australian market, and it’s unclear if it will be implemented in other regions like Vietnam.
According to sales data, the Tucson 1.6L Turbo accounted for only 17% of total sales from June 2024 to July 2025, while the hybrid version held a strong 51% and the base 2.0L gasoline model made up 32%. Notably, the Elite Hybrid N-Line 2WD variant has been retained, despite previous rumors of its discontinuation.
The 2025 Tucson will introduce two new color options: Ecotronic Grey Pearl (available across the range) and Ecotronic Grey Matte (exclusive to N-Line models).
The SUV will also feature Digital Key 2 technology, enabling wireless connectivity for functions like locking/unlocking, engine start, and more. Additionally, the standard Tucson model will downsize from 18-inch to 17-inch alloy wheels, a change already implemented in the Vietnamese market.
Despite the added features, the 2025 Hyundai Tucson in Australia sees a price reduction of AUD 1,000-1,500 (VNĐ 16.9-25.4 million). It now starts at AUD 38,100 (VNĐ 646.68 million) and tops out at AUD 59,600 (VNĐ 1.011 billion).
