In 2020, Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing department created a racing car named the Essenza SCV12, boasting 819 horsepower. Only 40 of these cars were produced globally, and they are not street-legal; they are exclusively for racing enthusiasts who can purchase and admire them in their garages.
When it comes to the unique hobby of collecting cars for admiration, there are a few enthusiasts in Vietnam, including Minh “Nhựa.” He has no plans to drive his McLaren Elva, which is already registered and taxed, on the roads. Instead, he prefers to keep it indoors for display, a fitting choice that aligns with his passion. If he favors the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, this car would be an ideal addition to his collection.
Out of the limited production run of 40 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 supercars, several are now up for sale. One particular model, produced in 2022 and finished in black, is on offer for $2 million, although the seller has not disclosed the car’s mileage.
At its launch, the Essenza SCV12 boasted Lamborghini’s most powerful V12 engine ever, with a 6.5-liter capacity. It delivers a maximum output of 819 horsepower, surpassing the hybrid Sian FKP 37 by 11 horsepower.
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox manufactured by X-Trac, which also serves as the car’s chassis to reduce weight. The exhaust system, developed in collaboration with Capristo, not only enhances the sound of the V12 engine but also reduces backpressure.
The front of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 features a long front splitter with two air intakes positioned next to the headlights. The upper part of the front end is designed with a flat and minimalist approach, featuring two air vents and wings that guide the airflow around the car to generate downforce. The car also sports impressive hexagonal LED headlights with a two-layer design.
The sides of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 showcase vertical fins and large air intakes, with an additional small intake on the roof. The rear of the car features a large diffuser and a dual-plane carbon fiber wing that can be manually adjusted to different settings.
The rear design of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 includes a multi-layered rear diffuser that increases downforce, along with high-mounted dual exhaust pipes, distinctive LED taillights, and a massive rear wing for improved aerodynamics.
The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 has a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, and the rear suspension is mounted directly to the gearbox to reduce weight and improve power distribution. The SCV12 offers a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 hp/kg. It rides on 19-inch magnesium wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, wrapped in specially developed Pirelli tires, and features high-performance Brembo brakes.
