The Vietnamese automotive market remained vibrant in July 2025, with a total of 46,722 units sold. This figure includes data from VAMA, VinFast, and Hyundai Thanh Cong, representing a slight 2% dip from June but still showcasing year-on-year growth.

Specifically, VAMA members accounted for 31,739 units, a 1% decrease from the previous month but a 10% increase compared to July 2024.

In the gasoline and diesel engine vehicle segment, the rankings witnessed notable shifts. Ford Ranger made a surprising comeback, increasing its sales by 14% from June and claiming the top spot with 1,598 units sold. So far this year, the ‘pickup truck king’ has sold 9,383 vehicles.

Mazda CX-5 maintained its position at number two with 1,586 units, a 6% increase from the previous month. In the first seven months of 2025, a total of 8,970 CX-5s were delivered to Vietnamese customers.

Mitsubishi Xpander ranked third, with July sales of 1,453 units, a significant 16% drop from June. However, its year-to-date sales remain impressive, with 9,740 units sold, making it the best-selling internal combustion engine model.

Notably, Honda City and Toyota Corolla Cross re-entered the top 10 after a prolonged absence, replacing the Toyota Innova Cross and Hyundai Tucson.

Honda City, in particular, sold 1,181 units, more than tripling its sales from the previous month, and climbed to the seventh position, closely trailing its rival, the Toyota Vios.

In the top 10 best-selling gasoline and diesel vehicles for July, Ford and Toyota each had three models, Mitsubishi had two, and Mazda and Honda had one each. Notably, neither Hyundai nor KIA, two prominent brands in Vietnam, made it to this list.

In the electric vehicle segment, the VinFast VF 3 maintained its leadership with 3,140 units sold in July. Since the beginning of the year, 26,223 VF 3s have been delivered to customers. With its affordable pricing, this mini EV remains the top choice in Vietnam.
