Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s Design Director, confirmed that the brand’s waiting list is fully booked until 2029, ensuring a bright future for the company. |
At the 2025 Monterey Car Week, Frank Heyl emphasized Bugatti’s stable position. He stated, “We’re producing 250 units of the Tourbillon and preparing the final deliveries of the Bolide, keeping us busy until 2029. Every vehicle is already sold, providing us with financial stability to plan long-term strategies confidently.”
Bugatti is currently constructing a new production facility on its existing French site. However, this expansion isn’t aimed at increasing output significantly. The new plant covers less than 0.5 hectares, a fraction of the size of larger manufacturers like Volkswagen’s 160-hectare Wolfsburg plant.

The Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar will be handcrafted at the new Bugatti Atelier, a compact 0.5-hectare facility in Molsheim, France. |
Looking ahead to 2029, the automotive landscape remains unpredictable. While many brands have delayed their full transition to electric vehicles, significant technological advancements are expected: solid-state batteries may enter production, autonomous driving could become mainstream, and innovations like Ford’s assembly line improvements are on the horizon. Yet, Bugatti appears unhurried by these trends.
Waiting years to own a Bugatti isn’t unusual in the ultra-luxury market. Similarly, acquiring a Rolex Daytona or other prestigious timepieces often requires years of waiting and even a selection process to qualify for ownership.
