VinFast VF 6: 2,038 Units

The VinFast VF 6 emerged as a top performer in the B-segment SUV category. This electric SUV recorded sales of 2,038 units, marking a 7.1% growth and reclaiming its position as the segment leader.

In Vietnam, the VinFast VF 6 is available in two variants: Eco and Plus, with attractively priced battery options starting from 689 to 749 million VND. The vehicle’s competitive advantages include its local brand appeal, low operating costs, an extensive nationwide charging network, and a complimentary charging policy until June 30, 2027.

The Eco variant features a 100 kW electric motor (approximately 134 horsepower) with a maximum torque of 135 Nm. The Plus variant boasts a more powerful 150 kW motor (around 201 horsepower) and 310 Nm of torque. Both versions utilize LFP batteries with a 59.6 kWh capacity, offering a WLTP-certified range of 399 km for the Eco and 381 km for the Plus.

Toyota Yaris Cross: 1,012 Units

Securing the second position in the B-segment SUV sales chart is the Toyota Yaris Cross. Despite a 19.6% decline, this model still managed to sell 1,012 units in August.

The Toyota Yaris Cross’s popularity in Vietnam can be attributed to frequent promotional campaigns and discounts. Additionally, its reputable brand, well-equipped standard features, and competitive pricing ranging from 650 to 765 million VND contribute to its appeal.

Under the hood, the Yaris Cross offers two powertrain options. The first is a 1.5L four-cylinder engine producing 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a D-CVT transmission. The second option is a hybrid system combining a 1.5L gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 179 horsepower.

Mitsubishi Xforce: 900 Units

Maintaining its third position in the sales ranking, the Mitsubishi Xforce experienced a 24% sales drop in August, totaling 900 units.

August witnessed a 19.9% sales decline for the Toyota Corolla Cross, resulting in 673 units sold and a fourth-place ranking in the B-segment SUV category.

Priced higher than most competitors at 820 to 905 million VND, the Corolla Cross justifies its premium with a larger size, more spacious interior, and a comprehensive suite of convenience and safety features.

Similar to its sibling, the Yaris Cross, the Corolla Cross offers two powertrain options: a 1.8L gasoline engine and a hybrid system. The gasoline engine produces 140 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT-i transmission. The hybrid variant combines a 1.8L engine with an electric motor, delivering a total system output of 120 horsepower.

Bucking the trend, the Hyundai Creta achieved a remarkable 44.9% sales growth, selling 600 units in August.

The Hyundai Creta received an upgrade in May 2025, featuring improved design and equipment. Its pricing ranges from 599 to 705 million VND.

The Creta is powered by a 1.5L SmartStream engine, delivering 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an intelligent iVT transmission and front-wheel drive.

Kia Seltos: 409 Units

In contrast to its sibling, the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos experienced an 18.5% sales decline, selling 409 units and ranking just below the Creta.

The Kia Seltos stands out with the most variant options in the B-segment SUV category, priced between 599 and 764 million VND. Its strengths include a stylish design, comprehensive features, and safety equipment.

The Seltos offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5L Smartstream naturally aspirated engine, producing 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. The second option is a 1.5L turbocharged Smartstream engine, generating 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission.

Honda HR-V: 353 Units

August proved challenging for the Honda HR-V, with sales plummeting 35.1% to 353 units, placing it near the bottom of the B-segment SUV sales ranking.

Like other Honda models, the HR-V doesn’t compete on price, ranging from 699 to 869 million VND. However, it compensates with a stunning design, standard ADAS safety features, and a highly regarded driving experience in its segment.

The Honda HR-V offers two powertrain options in Vietnam. The first is a 1.5L i-VTEC engine, producing 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The second is a hybrid system combining a 1.5L engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 227 horsepower and boasting a 30% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the gasoline variant.

Mazda CX-3: 115 Units

The Mazda CX-3 was one of the few models to achieve sales growth in August, with a modest 3.6% increase to 115 units. This positive result can likely be attributed to the introduction of a new variant.

The new Mazda CX-3 variant is now domestically assembled instead of being fully imported. However, its price has increased, ranging from 549 to 569 million VND.

The updated CX-3 features subtle design enhancements and additional equipment, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, Mazda Connect infotainment system, 7-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, HUD, and paddle shifters.

Powering the CX-3 is a 1.5L SkyActiv-G engine, delivering 110 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

At the bottom of the B-segment SUV sales ranking is the Mazda CX-30, which experienced a significant 38.6% sales decline, selling only 84 units in August.

Priced higher than its sibling, the CX-3, at 699 to 749 million VND, the CX-30 offers a more premium experience with a refined design, spacious interior, comprehensive features, and a more powerful engine.

The CX-30 is powered by a 2.0L SkyActiv-G naturally aspirated engine, producing 153 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
