Recently, Subaru officially unveiled the new-generation Forester 2.5 i-S EyeSight (SL) in the Southeast Asian market.

The 2026 Forester 2.5 i-S EyeSight will be imported directly from Japan, priced at 2.59 million baht (approximately 2.1 billion VND).

Compared to its predecessor, the new Subaru Forester is 30 mm longer and 15 mm wider, while maintaining the same height and wheelbase. Its overall dimensions are 4,655 x 1,830 x 1,730 mm, with a 2,670 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 220 mm, ensuring versatile performance across various terrains. The cargo capacity ranges from 504 liters to 1,727 liters with the rear seats folded down.

The exterior is built on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP) with a dual-layer Full Inner Frame body structure, featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with washers, LED fog lights, cornering lights, and a power tailgate with hands-free operation.

The new Forester is powered by a 2.5L horizontally opposed BOXER engine (FB25), delivering a maximum output of 185 horsepower and 247 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted through a Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission with an 8-speed manual mode, paired with Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system.

According to Subaru, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, reaches a top speed of 205 km/h, and achieves an average fuel efficiency of 14.08 km/l. Notable driving technologies include Dual X-Mode, SI-Drive drive mode selector, MacPherson Strut front suspension, and Double Wishbone rear suspension.

The interior of the Forester 2.5 i-S EyeSight is upholstered in a combination of leather and Ultra-Suede. The driver’s seat offers 10-way power adjustment with lumbar support and memory function, while the front passenger seat features 8-way power adjustment. The rear seats fold in a 60:40 ratio, recline, and fold flat with a One-Touch button.

The centerpiece is an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents. The steering wheel is 4-way adjustable and includes paddle shifters.

The highlight of the new-generation Forester is the EyeSight 4.0 safety suite. Utilizing three cameras and a wide-angle camera, it offers advanced features such as pre-collision braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver monitoring, emergency braking for unconscious drivers, and adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go functionality.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and various other safety features, ensuring comprehensive protection for occupants.

The new Forester in Thailand is available in 7 exterior colors: River Rock Pearl, Daybreak Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Magnetite Grey Metallic, and Brilliant Bronze Metallic. The standard interior color is black.

Subaru has also announced plans to consider introducing the 2.5 S:HEV Strong Hybrid variant to the Thai market in 2026, following its positive reception in Japan.
