On October 8th, at the Geely Long Biên showroom in Hanoi, Alpha Books in collaboration with Tasco Auto hosted the launch of the book “Nonlinear Growth – The Rise of Geely”.

Penned by authors Xiaobo Wu, Jian Du, and Sihan Li, this comprehensive study traces the ascent of Geely, a Chinese automotive giant. From its humble beginnings in Hangzhou, Geely has grown to acquire global brands like Volvo, Lotus, and Zeekr.

The Vietnamese edition spans nearly 500 pages, divided into 14 chapters across 5 sections. It chronicles Geely’s 25-year journey through challenges and breakthroughs. Rooted in the philosophy of “Three Creates All Things”—emerging from chaos with a survival instinct—Geely’s growth embodies the essence of “nonlinear thinking,” a self-negating force. The book delves into phases of replication, failure, and innovation, culminating in the 2010 Volvo acquisition—a move that stunned the world as a young Chinese firm swallowed a Nordic icon.

According to Nguyễn Cảnh Bình, Chairman of Alpha Books, the book’s value lies beyond success metrics: “Nonlinear growth isn’t exclusive to Geely; it’s an era’s law. Enterprises must self-neglect and pivot at limits to thrive. Geely proves that no starting point is too low with high enough thinking.”

Hoàng Anh Tuấn, Acting CEO of Tasco Auto, sees Geely’s journey as a mirror to Vietnamese aspirations: “Geely thrived despite adversity by daring to differ and think long-term. Tasco Auto shares this spirit—building a sustainable mobility ecosystem centered on human-centric innovation.”

Journalist Đinh Đức Hoàng, moderating the launch, hailed the book as a rare blend of academic research, Eastern philosophy, and modern business. He likened it to “a mirror reflecting how order emerges from chaos, birthing breakthroughs.” Each chapter offers lessons in navigating turmoil, learning from mistakes, and redefining quality through customer experience.

Beyond Geely’s story, the book enlightens Asian and Vietnamese businesses. Through real-world examples, it argues that sustainable growth stems from continuous reinvention. True enterprise vitality lies in transcending familiar models—a powerful message for leaders in a globalized era.

Exclusively published by Alpha Books, a leader in international business literature, the launch marks a significant partnership with Tasco Auto, Vietnam’s top auto distributor. Together, they aim to spread “nonlinear thinking” across communities.

“Nonlinear Growth – The Rise of Geely” transcends automotive tales, celebrating those who dare to differ. In a volatile world, it reminds us that growth is a journey of perception—where unique thinkers shape the future.
