Global Caring Month, an initiative launched by Ford Motor Company every September, aims to mobilize global resources to contribute to local communities.
Globally, nearly 6,000 Ford employees and their families across over 30 countries participate in more than 180 volunteer projects, contributing hundreds of thousands of hours to support communities. A standout initiative this year is the Food Drive campaign, led by Ford’s global dealership network from September 15th, in collaboration with local organizations, food banks, and partners to enhance food security and encourage community participation.
Additionally, Ford has expanded its Ford Volunteer Corps Hub to 11 new markets, providing more opportunities for Ford employees worldwide to engage in volunteer activities, connect, and contribute more effectively to society.
Building Sustainable Communities Together
Ford Vietnam’s 2025 Global Caring Month focuses on sustainable community development, including education, disaster resilience, community infrastructure improvement, and safety awareness.
In August 2025, Ford Vietnam organized a volunteer activity at An Phượng Secondary School (Hai Phong). Nearly 60 employees participated in building new restrooms, repairing damaged parking areas after Typhoon Yagi, repainting classrooms, and improving the learning environment. They also donated bicycles and helmets to students, promoting traffic safety and caring for future generations.
In Hanoi, Ford partnered with a social organization to transform a vacant lot into the Phúc Tân – Bở Vở Community Space. The project includes themed areas such as playgrounds, fitness zones, and spaces for learning about traffic safety, science, and the environment.
In Chiềng Đi (Son La), Ford implemented a sustainable community development project, installing 60 solar-powered streetlights along school routes and repairing roads. They also provided crop seeds and conducted sustainable agriculture training, helping locals adopt efficient farming models to increase productivity and income.
In Khau Phạ (Yen Bai), Ford Vietnam launched a project to control erosion and prevent flooding by planting vetiver grass and building retaining walls along streams, protecting farmland and homes of over 80 households. They also renovated a community cultural center, transforming it into a hub for activities, training, and communication. The project promotes homestay tourism, providing alternative income sources and financial stability for families during challenging times.
Disaster preparedness and first aid training programs empower communities to better cope with climate change and emergencies. Over 300 teachers, drivers, and migrant workers have been trained, enhancing emergency response capabilities.
Alongside key projects, Ford Vietnam encourages employee groups and leadership to participate in volunteer activities. In September, the Hai Duong Plant’s management team and partners visited Tà Tàu (Yen Bai), providing support to needy families.
Ford also donated engines and transmissions to Bac Giang University of Agriculture and Forestry and the University of Industrial Technology, helping automotive students access modern technology, develop practical skills, and prepare for the job market.
“Global Caring Month has become a meaningful tradition for Ford worldwide, reflecting our strong commitment to spreading kindness and contributing positively to society. These projects demonstrate Ford’s long-term sustainability commitment and our vision to create a safer, friendlier, and healthier environment for future generations,” said Ms. Hoàng Thị Thanh Tâm, Deputy General Director of Ford Vietnam.
The Power of Ford’s Ecosystem
From September 15th to 25th, Ford dealerships in multiple countries launched a food donation campaign to address global hunger. According to the UN, 733 million people faced hunger in 2024. Locally, dealerships partnered with food banks and organizations to ensure support reaches those most in need.
With active dealership participation, combined with over $2.4 billion in charitable contributions and 1.8 million volunteer hours over decades, Ford continues to redefine corporate social responsibility. The Food Drive campaign exemplifies the “Building Together” spirit, improving lives in local communities.
In Vietnam, Ford dealerships and car clubs nationwide joined the global campaign, providing practical support to needy families and showcasing the deep social responsibility of the domestic dealership network.
In September 2025, over 15 Ford dealerships and car clubs organized Mid-Autumn festivals, donating warm clothing and food to students in remote areas like Cao Bằng (Yen Bai) and Pa Cốp, Lũng Xá Tà Dê (Son La), helping them focus on education despite challenges. These efforts align with the Food Drive campaign, easing the burden on families nationwide.
With the “Building Together” spirit, Ford Vietnam unites the strength of its entire ecosystem—employees, dealerships, partners, and communities—to create sustainable value. The 2025 Global Caring Month projects deliver tangible benefits, fostering long-term sustainable development in Vietnam.
