Celebrating 50 Years of the 911 Turbo: Porsche Unveils the Limited Edition “911 Turbo 50 Years”
To commemorate five decades of the iconic 911 Turbo, Porsche has introduced the exclusive “911 Turbo 50 Years” edition. Limited to just 1,974 units globally—a nod to the year the first Turbo variant debuted—this model is a collector’s dream. In Vietnam, two of these rare vehicles have already found private owners.
The 911 Turbo 50 Years retains the signature sporty silhouette of the 911 lineage while incorporating exclusive design elements that honor its 50-year legacy. A standout feature is the side decal inspired by the 1974 RSR Turbo concept—the pioneering blueprint for the Turbo series. The number 63, prominently displayed on the body, pays homage to 1963, the year the Porsche 911 was first introduced.
Finished in GT Silver Metallic, this particular model pairs its exterior with the Heritage Design Package 50 Years Turbo’s white Sport Classic five-spoke wheels, valued at over $1 billion VND. These replace the standard 20″/21″ Turbonite 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels. While not part of the Heritage Design lineup, the car features a distinctive engine grille badge inscribed with “Turbo 50 1974 – 2024,” designed in the iconic Turbo snail shell motif.
Inside, the cabin of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years evokes nostalgia with its Tartan-patterned McKenzie fabric seats, reminiscent of the 1973 911 RSR Turbo concept. This retro design, previously seen in limited editions like the 911 Sport Classic and 911 Spirit 70, extends to the dashboard and door panels. Accents in Turbonite—a unique alloy blending metallic gray and copper—further distinguish the Turbo’s interior.
The passenger-side dashboard is engraved with the production number and a “Turbo 50” emblem. The car also includes the Sport Chrono package, featuring Launch Control, an analog race timer, racing-inspired gear selector, and a steering wheel-integrated drive mode selector.
Powering the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years is a twin-turbocharged 3.7L boxer engine delivering 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds (with Sport Chrono) and reaches a top speed of 330 km/h.
