At VMS 2024, Skoda showcased the Superb model in Vietnam. However, since then, the brand has remained silent, with no official announcement regarding its launch in the Vietnamese market.
The Skoda Superb, built on the MQB platform, boasts impressive dimensions: 4,902 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, 1,482 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,841 mm. If launched in Vietnam, the Skoda Superb would compete directly with the likes of the Toyota Camry, Mazda6, and Honda Accord in the D-segment sedan category.
The Superb embodies a youthful yet distinctly European design language. The front fascia captivates with its thick chrome-trimmed grille, signature vertical slats, and intricately crafted LED headlights seamlessly integrated with the hood, exuding premium sophistication.
In contrast, the rear adopts a minimalist aesthetic, prioritizing subtlety over flamboyance. The elongated LED taillights stretching across the trunk, coupled with the raised “SKODA” emblem, provide a distinctive brand signature while maintaining an overall understated elegance, somewhat less striking than the front.
Inside, the cabin embraces minimalism, nearly eliminating physical buttons in favor of a 13-inch central touchscreen controlling most functions. This clean, buttonless design retains only essential controls, epitomizing modern simplicity.
Notable features include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, shift-by-wire gear selector, wireless charging, electronic parking brake, and panoramic sunroof, among others.
The powertrain options for the Vietnamese market remain undisclosed. Globally, the Skoda Superb offers three variants: diesel, hybrid (HEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV), catering to diverse driving preferences.
Specifically, the 2.0L diesel engine delivers 150–193 hp, depending on front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations. The hybrid (HEV) combines a 1.5L or 2.0L gasoline engine with an electric motor, achieving 150–265 hp. All variants feature Skoda’s signature 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) stands out with its 1.5L gasoline engine and electric motor, producing 204 hp. Its 25.7 kWh lithium-ion battery enables up to 100 km of electric-only driving. Paired with a 6-speed DSG and front-wheel drive, it balances efficiency and agility.
In the Czech Republic, pricing ranges from 799,900 to 1,130,000 CZK (approximately 1–1.41 billion VND). The Skoda Superb enjoys robust sales, with 72,800 units sold globally in 2024, consistently ranking among the top 10 best-sellers in the Czech market.
