Three years after its initial concept debut, the Yamaha Tricera three-wheeled vehicle is set to unveil its production-ready version at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.

Compared to its previously showcased prototype, the new Yamaha Tricera has undergone significant design and feature refinements, focusing on enhanced practicality and performance.

The Tricera features a trike layout with two front wheels and one rear wheel, coupled with an agile steering system. This system allows the front and rear wheels to turn in unison or in opposite directions, ensuring high-speed stability and improved cornering agility. Drivers can also disable the rear-wheel steering for a more conventional handling experience.

Design-wise, the Yamaha Tricera embodies the brand’s signature aesthetics with round headlights, horizontal daytime running lights (DRLs), and a complex front fascia that exudes a futuristic vibe. Compared to the concept, the production model adds a small windscreen, side mirrors, and a more refined interior, including deep red sports seats.

The Yamaha Tricera electric three-wheeler is powered by an electric motor. However, Yamaha Japan has yet to disclose detailed specifications regarding the motor, battery capacity, or other technical details.

Notably, the Yamaha Tricera is equipped with an audio system designed to modulate the sound of the electric powertrain, adding an interactive layer to enhance the driving experience.

In addition to the Tricera, Yamaha plans to showcase several other models at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, including the Motoroid concept inspired by sci-fi films and the Proto BEV, an all-electric sports vehicle.
