According to VAMA’s report, Vietnam’s market consumed approximately 1,371 hybrid vehicles in September 2025, marking the highest monthly sales this year.
In the first nine months of 2025, hybrid vehicles saw robust growth in Vietnam, with total sales reaching 9,785 units—a remarkable 73.1% increase compared to the same period last year (5,652 units).
The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid reclaimed the top sales position, selling 303 units in September 2025. This success is largely attributed to the distributor’s 50% reduction in registration fees, equivalent to a cash discount of VND 46–51 million, depending on the version.
The Toyota Corolla Cross, introduced in Vietnam in August 2020, is considered the first affordable hybrid vehicle in the market, featuring a 1.8HV powertrain. In early May 2024, the model received updates with two variants—V and HEV—priced at VND 820 million and VND 905 million, respectively.
Following the Toyota Corolla Cross, the Honda CR-V secured second place with 273 units sold in September. Cumulatively, the Honda CR-V achieved 1,558 sales in the first nine months of the year.
Other hybrid models posting sales growth in September include the Toyota Innova Cross Hybrid (259 units), Suzuki XL7 Hybrid (249 units), and Toyota Yaris Cross (122 units).
Conversely, most other models experienced sales declines, including the Suzuki Swift (70 units), Honda HR-V (63 units), Toyota Camry (51 units), Honda Civic (23 units), Kia Sorento (13 units), and Toyota Alphard (11 units).
