The Porsche 911 sports car line is currently in its 992.2 generation, featuring numerous updates in design, interior, and powertrain. However, many owners of older models hesitate to upgrade, as the Porsche 911 991 remains a symbol of prestige and timeless elegance.

The Porsche 911 991 is beloved for its stunning design, particularly its angular taillights, which contrast with the full-width design of the 992.

Launched in 2011, the 991 generation marked a significant technological leap. The center console, inspired by the Carrera GT, was also adopted for the Panamera sedan. This generation introduced Porsche’s active chassis control system, PDCC.

In September 2015, Porsche introduced a turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer engine for the base Carrera and Carrera S models. Compared to the 997, the 991 is slightly larger, with a 100 mm longer wheelbase (2,450 mm) and a 70 mm increase in overall length (4,490 mm).

A newly developed transmission allowed the rear wheels to move 76 mm further back relative to the engine, significantly improving weight distribution and cornering performance.

Using high-strength steel, aluminum, and composite materials, the weight was reduced to 1,380 kg for the manual Carrera, up to 1,605 kg for the four-wheel-drive Turbo with the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) transmission. PDK, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual and automatic modes, was optional for all Carrera and 911 Turbo (991.1 Non S) models. Produced by ZF Friedrichshafen, it includes auto start-stop as standard on all Carrera variants.
