Nissan has officially unveiled the new generation Leaf, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s global electric vehicle strategy.

Nissan Leaf is available in three variants: Leaf B7 X, Leaf B7 G, and Leaf AUTECH B7, with prices ranging from 5.19 to 5.99 million yen (approximately $47,000 to $55,000 USD).

The 2026 Nissan Leaf boasts dimensions of 4,360 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, 1,550 mm in height, a wheelbase of 2,690 mm, and a ground clearance of 135 mm. Its kerb weight is 1,880 kg.

In terms of design, the 2026 Nissan Leaf showcases a more modern and dynamic aesthetic. The front fascia impresses with an inverted trapezoidal grille, full-width LED daytime running lights, and geometrically designed headlights. The lower air intakes are symmetrically arranged, creating a harmonious and futuristic overall look.

The car’s silhouette has a coupe-like profile with a sleekly sloping roofline, pop-up door handles, and concealed rear door handles to optimize aerodynamics. It features 19-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic sunroof, elements typically found in premium vehicles.

The 2026 Nissan Leaf is equipped with the YM52 electric motor, delivering a maximum power output of 218 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque. Paired with a 78 kWh battery pack, the new Leaf offers robust and agile performance.

According to Nissan, the 2026 Leaf has a maximum range of 702 km (G variant with 18-inch wheels) and 685 km for the X and AUTECH variants (with 19-inch wheels), both under the WLTC standard.

The Leaf 2026 supports the CHAdeMO standard, compatible with AC charging up to 6 kW and DC fast charging up to 150 kW. Notably, it incorporates vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology with a 1,500 W output, allowing the car’s battery to power household appliances or provide emergency backup power.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Japan from February 2026. Nissan is also developing a Leaf B5 variant with a smaller 55 kWh battery, targeting users with shorter commutes and more budget-friendly needs.
