Brand value remains a critical metric, reflecting a company’s recognition, reputation, and adaptability in the face of market fluctuations. For 26 years, Interbrand, a leading consulting firm, has consistently published its annual Best Global Brands report, showcasing the world’s most powerful brands across industries, including the automotive sector.
Toyota Maintains Its Dominance
In the 2025 Best Global Brands list, familiar names dominate the top spots: Apple leads, followed by Microsoft and Amazon. In the automotive sector, Toyota once again claims the title of the most valuable brand, with a modest 2% increase from the previous year.
According to Interbrand, Toyota’s brand value stands at $74.2 billion, securing its position as the 6th most valuable brand globally, trailing only tech giants like Apple ($470.9 billion), Microsoft ($388.5 billion), and Amazon ($319.9 billion).
Mercedes-Benz and BMW Hold Strong
Mercedes-Benz retains its position as the second most valuable automotive brand globally (10th overall), despite a 15% decline to $50.1 billion. BMW follows closely, ranking third in the automotive sector (14th globally), with a value of $46.8 billion, a 10% drop from last year.

This reflects Tesla’s struggles, from intensifying competition in the electric vehicle market to slowing sales growth in key regions like the U.S. and China.
Hyundai and Ferrari Show Strong Growth
On a positive note, Hyundai saw a 7% increase, securing the 6th spot in the automotive rankings. Ferrari, the sole Italian brand in the list, demonstrated its enduring appeal with a 17% rise, ranking 8th in the sector and 54th globally.
Beyond the top 10, Nissan dropped sharply by 33% to 82nd place, while Kia saw a modest 5% increase, landing at 89th. Notably, BYD, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, entered the list for the first time at 90th, highlighting the growing influence of Asian brands.
Tech companies are also making their mark. Xiaomi, ranked 81st, has ventured into electric vehicles with its SU7 sedan. Huawei (96th) continues to expand partnerships with automakers, though its focus remains on consumer electronics.
