On the afternoon of October 20th, Vietnam Partnership Auction (VPA) officially launched the 8th vehicle license plate auction session.
According to the approved plan, this auction session lists over 1.77 million license plates from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. It is considered one of the largest-scale sessions since the vehicle license plate auction format was introduced.
On the first day alone (October 20th), 1,222 license plates were successfully auctioned, generating an estimated revenue of over 62.8 billion VND. Of these, 493 car plates were auctioned for a total value of more than 50.8 billion VND, while 729 motorcycle plates fetched nearly 12 billion VND.
Among car plates, premium numbers like quintuplets continued to attract attention and command high prices, such as: 37K-888.88 (2.605 billion VND), 51N-222.22 (1.77 billion VND), 79A-777.79 (855 million VND), 89A-989.89 (730 million VND), and 51B-966.66 (615 million VND).
For motorcycle plates, the bidding competition was equally intense. The top 5 highest-priced plates on October 20th were: 79AA-888.88 (758 million VND), 49AA-567.89 (223.5 million VND), 43AB-555.55 (213.5 million VND), 99AA-333.33 (195.5 million VND), and 68AC-222.22 (166 million VND).
According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department, since the vehicle license plate auction program began, over 150,000 plates have been successfully sold, contributing more than 8.1 trillion VND to the state budget.
