A once-iconic luxury hotel in Macau now stirs social media frenzy.
A group of urban explorers recently uncovered a collection of luxury vehicles and supercars left abandoned within the hotel’s premises. Covered in dust and untouched for nearly a decade, these vehicles paint a picture as if time has stood still.
Local media reports that this establishment was once among Macau’s most prestigious hotels, renowned for its elite services catering to high-profile guests and VIPs. However, in 2016, Macau authorities ordered its indefinite closure following severe safety violations, allegations of drug activity, gun violence, and opaque ownership.
A YouTuber, Exploring the Unbeaten Path, recently released a video documenting their exploration of the site. Outside the hotel, the team discovered dozens of Toyota Alphards, reportedly former VIP shuttles, alongside scattered Audi and Porsche Cayenne models.
In the main lobby, three extended-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantoms, once used to transport elite guests, were found. Despite deteriorating conditions, broken glass, and graffiti, none had been stripped of parts or vandalized.
Nearby, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class sat motionless, encased in thick dust, indicating years of neglect.
Venturing into the underground parking garage, the explorers found more remarkable vehicles, including a white limousine Dodge Charger, an Audi A8, and other high-end sedans.
A stretched Hummer H2 limousine, capable of seating 18, symbolized the opulence and decadence of the 2000s. Despite deflated tires and dust, it remains a haunting relic of a bygone era.
Exploring the Unbeaten Path divided their journey into three parts, with only one focusing on the vehicles. The remaining parts showcased the hotel’s interior, including suites, laundry facilities, and the cafeteria.
The video quickly amassed millions of views and tens of thousands of comments. Viewers expressed awe at the complex’s scale, while others saw it as a stark portrayal of luxury and decay—two sides of the high-end tourism industry.
Macau authorities have yet to comment on the hotel’s status or the fate of the abandoned luxury cars. However, the dust-covered Rolls-Royces, silent in their solitude, have become a haunting symbol of an opulent era now confined to memory.
