One year ago, Brabus shook the automotive tuning world with the unveiling of the Rocket GTS, a project developed from the Mercedes-AMG SL. This masterpiece is essentially a bespoke tuned vehicle crafted in a modern, aggressive style, commanding a price tag of up to $1 million.
The Rocket GTS boasts an array of carbon fiber details, including body panels seemingly crafted from thin air. Its bold body kit features extended fenders, rugged side skirts, a ventilated hood, sporty front air intakes, and a redesigned rear end with dual spoilers, a tailgate, a large diffuser, and four round exhaust tips.
The Brabus Rocket GTS is predominantly clad in carbon fiber, showcasing the brand’s iconic logo throughout. It rides on custom Brabus Monoblock P Platinum Edition wheels, which, while slightly overstated for some roads, perfectly complement its aggressive aesthetic.
The Rocket GTS also features a flat roofline. If you think these additions are merely decorative, think again—Brabus claims they enhance downforce at breathtaking speeds.

The active exhaust system delivers a thunderous roar, while beneath the hood lies a formidable 4.5-liter V8 engine, enhanced with twin turbochargers and an electric motor.
Combined output reaches 1,000 horsepower and 1,195 pound-feet (1,620 Nm) of torque. Notably, torque was reduced from 1,820 Nm to 1,620 Nm to safeguard the 9-speed automatic transmission.
These figures dwarf the standard Mercedes-AMG SL 63 SE Performance, which produces 805 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. The Brabus Rocket GTS is rumored to shave off 2/10ths of a second, reaching a top speed of 197 mph for the daring.

Unsurprisingly, the interior has been meticulously redesigned, bearing the Brabus signature on nearly every touchpoint, alongside the tuner’s logo throughout. Priced at €945,762.50, it equates to over $1.1 million at current exchange rates.
