B-Sized SUV Sales in September 2025 (units: vehicles)

Toyota Yaris Cross: 1,964 Units

In September 2025, Toyota Vietnam sold 1,964 Yaris Cross units to Vietnamese customers, a remarkable 94% growth compared to the previous month. This model boasts the highest sales growth rate in the B-sized SUV segment. Additionally, the Toyota Yaris Cross has successfully reclaimed the “segment leader” title from the VinFast VF 6.

Toyota Yaris Cross

This impressive achievement can be attributed to the official promotional programs that Toyota Vietnam has consistently offered for the Yaris Cross over the past months. Additionally, objective factors such as the end of the Ghost Month and the Vietnamese auto market entering its year-end acceleration phase have contributed to this success.

The Toyota Yaris Cross in Vietnam is priced between VND 650 million and VND 765 million. For this price, Vietnamese customers receive a well-equipped B-sized SUV with a compact, sporty design, even in the base model.

Under the hood, the Toyota Yaris Cross offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5L four-cylinder engine producing a maximum power of 105 hp and a peak torque of 138 Nm, paired with a D-CVT continuously variable transmission. The second is a hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum power of 90 hp and an electric motor delivering 79 hp, along with a lithium-ion battery.

VinFast VF 6: 1,933 Units

Ranking second in the B-sized SUV segment in September 2025 is the VinFast VF 6. This VinFast electric SUV sold 1,933 units, closely trailing the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, unlike its Japanese competitor, the VinFast VF 6 experienced a 5.1% sales decline.

VinFast VF 6

The VinFast VF 6 in Vietnam is currently priced between VND 689 million and VND 749 million, including the battery, for the Eco and Plus variants. Its competitive pricing, combined with its local brand appeal, low operating costs, extensive nationwide charging network, and free charging policy until June 30, 2027, have propelled this electric vehicle to success.

The VinFast VF 6 is equipped with an electric motor delivering 100 kW (approximately 134 hp) and a peak torque of 135 Nm in the standard Eco version. The Plus version features a more powerful 150 kW (approximately 201 hp) motor and 310 Nm of torque. Both versions use an LFP battery with a capacity of 59.6 kWh, offering a range of 399 km for the Eco and 381 km for the Plus, as per the WLTP testing cycle.

Mitsubishi Xforce: 1,374 Units

September 2025 witnessed a strong performance from the Mitsubishi Xforce, with sales reaching 1,374 units. This represents a 52.6% growth compared to August 2025. However, the model still ranks third in the segment due to significantly lower sales than the Toyota Yaris Cross and VinFast VF 6.

Mitsubishi Xforce

The Mitsubishi Xforce’s standout feature is its attractive pricing, starting from VND 599 million to VND 705 million. Additionally, the model benefits from continuous official promotional programs, a stylish design, sufficient convenience and safety features.

The Mitsubishi Xforce is powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 105 hp and a peak torque of 141 Nm. This engine is paired with a CVT continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. The vehicle offers four driving modes, including Normal, Gravel, Mud, and Slippery, available in higher-end variants.

Toyota Corolla Cross

Compared to its sibling, the Yaris Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross is priced higher, ranging from VND 820 million to VND 905 million. In return, it offers a larger size, more spacious interior, and a wider range of convenience and safety features.

The Toyota Corolla Cross provides two engine options. The first is a 1.8L four-cylinder gasoline engine, generating a maximum power of 140 hp and a peak torque of 172 Nm, paired with a CVT-i continuously variable transmission.

The Honda HR-V also experienced a slight sales increase in September 2025, with 363 units sold, a 2.8% growth compared to the previous month.

Honda HR-V

The Honda HR-V’s main drawback in the Vietnamese market is its high price, ranging from VND 699 million to VND 869 million. However, for those who appreciate its stylish design, adequate equipment, standard ADAS active safety features, and highly rated driving experience in the segment, the HR-V is a very worthwhile consideration.

The Honda HR-V in Vietnam offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5L naturally aspirated i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 119 hp and a peak torque of 145 Nm.

Powering the CX-30 is a naturally aspirated SkyActiv-G 2.0 gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 153 hp and a peak torque of 200 Nm. This engine is paired with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Mazda CX-3: 90 Units

The second model to experience a sales decline in the B-sized SUV segment in September 2025, after the VinFast VF 6, is the Mazda CX-3. This model sold only 90 units in the past month, a 21.7% decrease. This result also pushed the CX-3 to the bottom of the B-sized SUV segment.

Mazda CX-3

The Mazda CX-3 has been localized to better control supply. However, its price has not decreased but increased compared to the previous imported version from Thailand, ranging from VND 549 million to VND 569 million.

The new version of the CX-3 features slight design and equipment upgrades, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a Mazda Connect infotainment system, a 7-inch central touchscreen, automatic climate control, a HUD head-up display, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
