Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has captured attention with the unveiling of an upgraded version of its Zeekr 001 sedan, boasting the world’s fastest charging capability.
The standout feature of the new Zeekr 001 is its integration of a 900V electrical architecture paired with the innovative “Golden Brick” battery technology. This combination enables the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in just 7 minutes—a remarkable feat for a large 95kWh battery, typically not seen in ultra-fast charging vehicles.
This upgraded Zeekr 001 also supports an impressive 1,140kW charging power. In the U.S., only Tesla’s Megacharger system for the Semi truck matches this level. In China, Zeekr has begun deploying 1,300kW charging stations to support this cutting-edge model.
The 95kWh battery variant of the Zeekr 001 features a full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD) system with dual electric motors, delivering up to 912 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.83 seconds, rivaling the performance of supercars.
Under the CLTC standard, the vehicle achieves a range of 710 km on a single charge. The 103kWh battery variant, utilizing CATL’s Qilin technology, extends this to 762 km but with a slightly slower charging time (10% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes).
Beyond its performance, the new Zeekr 001 elevates luxury with an upgraded interior: a panoramic glass roof featuring LED starry sky lighting inspired by Rolls-Royce, a 39.3-inch HUD, a large central infotainment screen, a 13-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch rear-seat display.
Zeekr has yet to announce pricing for this new version, but deliveries are expected to commence in the coming days.
