Toyota stole the spotlight at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show with a dazzling array of debuts. Front and center at their exhibit was the all-new Corolla Concept.
Part of the new “To You, Toyota” campaign, the Corolla Concept was crafted by Toyota’s European Design Center (ED²) in Nice, France. This sleek sedan marks the next chapter for the Corolla—one of Toyota’s longest-running and best-selling models—with its sharp design and diverse powertrain options.

At first glance, it’s clear this concept bears little resemblance to the 12th-generation Corolla currently on the market. Instead, the Corolla Concept boasts a modern, streamlined aesthetic with proportions reminiscent of an electric vehicle. It hints at a fresh design direction for the iconic Corolla, much like Toyota’s recent transformation of the Prius.

The front fascia adopts Toyota’s signature “hammerhead shark” design, refined with full-width LED lights blending horizontal and vertical elements. The traditional grille is gone, replaced by a slim air intake in the front bumper and a subtle vent below the windshield.

From the side, the car maintains the graceful silhouette of a four-door sedan, staying true to the Corolla legacy. The front fenders appear to integrate a charging port and a new vertical accent below the side mirrors. It features a sloping beltline, prominent character lines, and conventional door handles.

The rear design is seamlessly integrated with a “duck tail” spoiler extending from the roof, sloping downward. The LED taillights stretch across the width, featuring a pixelated light effect that connects to the sharp character lines on the sides. The “Corolla” badge sits centered on the flat trunk lid, while the rear bumper is sharply sculpted.

The interior of the Toyota Corolla Concept is completely reimagined, featuring a minimalist dashboard with a digital instrument cluster and a modestly sized passenger display. The center console, inspired by the car’s design, includes a distinctive gear selector.

Futuristic seating and ambient lighting complement the interior, while essential controls for infotainment and climate systems are conveniently placed on the steering wheel and instrument panel sides.
Toyota has yet to reveal the Corolla Concept’s technical specifications, only confirming its commitment to diverse powertrains, including fully electric and hybrid options, tailored to market needs. The company assures that space and practicality will remain uncompromised, regardless of the powertrain.

While the Corolla Concept’s design strongly suggests production intent, Toyota hasn’t announced an official launch date for the next-generation model. Given the current Corolla’s 2018 debut, the successor is likely to arrive in 2026.
In addition to the Corolla Concept, Toyota showcased several other innovative concepts at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, including the Kids Mobi, Boost Me, Chibibo, Walk Me, Challenge Me, Love Me, Coms-X, IMV Origin, Kago-Bo, Kayoibako, and HiAce.
