Since its debut in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf has become one of the most successful hatchbacks in automotive history, with over 37 million units sold worldwide. Often referred to as the “heart” of Volkswagen, the Golf laid the foundation for high-performance sports models like the Golf GTI and Golf R.
In Vietnam, the new Volkswagen Golf will be available in six variants: 1.5 eTSI Life, 1.5 eTSI Style, 1.5 eTSI R-Line, 2.0 TSI GTI Lite, 2.0 TSI GTI Performance, and R Performance 4Motion. Priced between 798 million and 1.898 billion VND, this diverse lineup caters to a wide range of budgets, making it accessible to all consumers.

The Vietnamese market Golf features a mild hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48V electric motor. This setup delivers a maximum output of 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque in the 1.5 eTSI variants, while improving fuel efficiency by up to 10%.
Additionally, these variants boast striking exterior features such as IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights, sporty R-Line front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, advanced LED taillights, and 18-inch Bergamo alloy wheels.
The GTI models, powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, produce an impressive 242 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, these versions offer a more dynamic driving experience. Their sporty design is complemented by features like IQ.Light Matrix LED headlights, X-shaped fog lights, a GTI-specific center console, electronic gear shift, 30-color ambient lighting, Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof, and three-zone automatic climate control.
The flagship R Performance 4Motion stands out with its distinctive R badges, blue-accented IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights, unique front and rear bumpers, dual exhaust system, and high-performance blue brake calipers.

According to Volkswagen Vietnam, the Golf’s return in 2025 underscores the brand’s strategy to expand its lineup of authentic European vehicles, targeting young enthusiasts who appreciate driving dynamics, cutting-edge technology, and German design. All six Golf variants available in Vietnam are manufactured at the Wolfsburg plant.
At Volkswagen Experience Day, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the new Golf variants alongside other flagship models like the Touareg, Teramont, Tiguan, and Viloran. The event will feature test drives, vehicle maintenance services, and engaging activities. It will take place on October 31, 2025 (for press and invited guests) and November 1, 2025 (open to the public) at Saigon Riverside Park.
