Recently, BYD officially introduced two strategic models, the BYD RACCO and BYD SEALION 6 DM-i, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.
The BYD RACCO is the first K-EV electric vehicle specifically developed for the Japanese market, while the BYD SEALION 6 DM-i marks BYD’s inaugural plug-in hybrid offering for Japanese customers.
This event signifies a pivotal moment in BYD’s journey within Japan, where the brand is implementing a dual “EV + PHEV” strategy, showcasing a comprehensive vision for both pure electric and hybrid vehicles. Under the theme “ONE BYD,” the brand’s exhibit seamlessly blends passenger and commercial vehicles, underscoring its long-term commitment to advancing green energy transition in the country.
Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, proudly stated, “This year marks BYD’s 20th anniversary in Japan and the first time we’ve showcased both passenger and commercial vehicles simultaneously. From electric buses to passenger EVs, and now the DM-i Super Hybrid BYD SEALION 6 DM-i and the globally unveiled K-EV BYD RACCO, BYD is dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality vehicles tailored to Japan’s market needs. We will continue expanding our product lineup, enhancing services, and partnering with Japanese customers on the path to a sustainable future.”
