As Pagani closes the chapter on one of its most spectacular creations, the final Huayra Roadster BC, affectionately named “Quaranta,” meaning “forty” in Italian, marks the end of an era for the wind-god-inspired hypercar.

Expected to fetch between $5.7 million and $6 million, this unique masterpiece is not only the 40th Roadster BC and the last Huayra ever produced but also one of the most beautifully designed vehicles to emerge from the San Cesario sul Panaro factory.

The name Huayra itself carries immense weight in automotive history. Launched in 2011 as the successor to the legendary Zonda, the Huayra bore the heavy responsibility of continuing Pagani’s philosophy of blending art and engineering seamlessly.

The result was a vehicle that is both a sculpture and a speed machine, a delicate fusion of design and performance that pushed the boundaries of what a handcrafted hypercar could be.

The Huayra BC lineage debuted in 2016 with the coupe version, unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show. The car was named in honor of Benny Caiola, an Italian real estate entrepreneur, early investor in Pagani, and the company’s first customer.

The Huayra BC represented a significant leap forward in performance and innovation. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine crafted by AMG, it delivers 753 horsepower, exclusively channeled to the rear wheels via a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

With such numbers, the Huayra BC is a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” hypercar. A mere press of the right pedal propels it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The Pagani Huayra utilizes a special variant of the Mercedes-AMG M158 engine, never fitted to any street-legal Mercedes.

Exactly three years later, in 2019, Pagani introduced the Huayra Roadster BC, elevating the BC philosophy to new heights for open-top driving. While sharing a similar aesthetic with its coupe sibling, nearly every aerodynamic element was redesigned.

Beneath the carbon fiber body lies a re-engineered Mercedes-AMG V12 engine, now tuned to produce a staggering 800 PS and 775 pound-feet (572 Nm) of torque. With a dry weight of just 2,755 pounds (1,250 kg), the Roadster BC is 66 pounds (30 kg) lighter than the standard Huayra Roadster, a remarkable feat for an open-top hypercar.

A fixed rear wing, integrated air intakes, and active aerodynamic panels enable the car to generate an astonishing 1,100 pounds (499 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h), ensuring stability even at its top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h).

“Quaranta,” the final production model, is a profound tribute to Pagani’s artistry and dedication. The Bianco Benny pearlescent paint, a nod to Benny Caiola, shimmers with subtle warmth in the light, while tri-color accents inspired by the Italian flag adorn the entire body, rear wing, diffuser, and even the interior.

The cabin is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and precision, featuring Malevic black leather, carbon fiber accents, and red detailing throughout. The number 40 is intricately embroidered on each headrest and engraved on the removable carbon fiber roof panel, while the engine bay bears the signatures of Horacio Pagani and the artisans who handcrafted the car.

Delivered new to a private owner in Florida, Quaranta remains virtually untouched, with the odometer reading less than 75 miles. Since its delivery in April 2022, it has graced select events, including the 2022 and 2024 Miami Concours, and most recently, the prestigious Hypercars category at ModaMiami 2025.

As the final Huayra Roadster BC ever produced, Quaranta stands as the last chapter of an era defined by relentless passion and mechanical artistry.

In a world where technology evolves at breakneck speed and trends fade quickly, Pagani remains steadfast in its dedication to craftsmanship and soul. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, Quaranta is a timeless symbol of beauty and performance, destined to hold a revered place among the greatest automotive masterpieces of the 21st century.
