Ahead of the Japan Mobility Show, Nissan officially unveiled the Skyline 400R Limited, a special edition of its iconic sports sedan lineage.
The Nissan Skyline 400R Limited is a limited production run of just 400 units, exclusively for the Japanese market, with deliveries set to commence on December 18th this year.
The Skyline is one of Nissan’s most enduring and storied nameplates, first introduced in the 1950s. Over generations, it has evolved from a conventional sedan into a symbol of performance and sporty design, closely associated with the legendary GT-R models of the past.
The design of the Skyline 400R Limited remains largely consistent with the standard 400R, but incorporates carbon fiber elements such as a rear spoiler and side mirror covers. These additions reduce weight while enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.
A “Limited” badge on the rear distinguishes this special edition. Nissan also offers a new Wangan Blue paint option, inspired by the iconic Wangan Expressway—a symbol of Japanese sports car culture.
The vehicle features newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels paired with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 tires, sized 245/40R19 at the front and 265/35R19 at the rear. High-performance brakes with heat-resistant pads ensure consistent stopping power, even under extreme conditions like mountain roads or track driving.
Inside the cabin, the Skyline 400R Limited stands out with a production number plaque on the center console—a detail that will appeal to collectors of rare vehicles.
Carbon fiber and brushed aluminum accents adorn the interior, blending luxury with a sporty aesthetic. Premium leather upholstery and contoured seats provide excellent support during high-speed driving.
Based on the V37 generation Skyline, the 400R Limited features extensive enhancements to the engine, chassis, and materials, catering to enthusiasts seeking both performance and collectability.
Under the hood, the Skyline 400R Limited is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 VR30DDTT engine, delivering 400 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a responsive and engaging driving experience.
To match the engine’s power, Nissan has refined the 400R Limited’s chassis. Front springs are 4% stiffer, while the rear anti-roll bar has been reinforced, increasing overall rigidity by 44% and minimizing body roll during aggressive cornering.
