At the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Honda unveiled the sporty CR-V e:HEV RS Black Edition, a special variant featuring notable enhancements in design, comfort, and powertrain.

Scheduled for release in Japan this winter, the model is expected to arrive in Vietnam by 2026.

The Honda CR-V e:HEV RS Black Edition is built on the new-generation CR-V platform, targeting enthusiasts of sporty and luxurious aesthetics. Compared to the standard model, the Black Edition stands out with its exterior details—including the grille, mirror caps, door handles, air intake trim, front/rear bumpers, and logo—all finished in glossy black or matte black. The 19-inch alloy wheels feature a new spoke design, enhancing its rugged and modern appearance.

The rear features a refined horizontal “L”-shaped LED taillight design, paired with dual exhausts for a balanced look. Overall, the CR-V RS Black Edition retains the muscular essence of the CR-V lineage while adding a touch of sophistication and refinement.

The Honda CR-V e:HEV RS Black Edition offers five exterior color options, with black as the signature shade, embodying the “Black Edition” spirit.

The interior of the CR-V RS Black Edition adheres to a “minimalist yet premium” philosophy. The dominant black theme is accented with metallic details and glossy black trim. Honda replaces the traditional gear shift with electronic buttons and introduces ventilated front seats for enhanced comfort.

Other features remain consistent, including the touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and Honda Sensing safety suite.

Powering this special edition is the e:HEV hybrid system, combining a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. Honda has refined the transmission for smoother operation.

While the current Vietnamese CR-V e:HEV RS uses an E-CVT, the Black Edition introduces an optional full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Although pricing remains undisclosed, experts predict the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS Black Edition will command a premium over the standard e:HEV RS, justified by its distinctive styling and advanced powertrain.
