Heritage Customs (Netherlands) has officially unveiled the world’s first Defender pickup truck.

Previously, Land Rover confirmed plans to develop an electric Defender but dismissed the idea of a pickup variant, stating it wasn’t part of their product strategy.

Seizing the opportunity, Heritage Customs turned this concept into reality after teasing a 3D render in mid-2024.

Based on the Defender 130 V8, the custom build retains the original 3,020 mm wheelbase. Despite the redesigned rear, the cargo bed measures just 1,000 mm in length and 1,400 mm in width, limiting its practicality.

The vehicle maintains the Defender’s iconic boxy, muscular design, enhanced by Heritage’s refined touches. The seamlessly integrated bed gives it the appearance of a factory-built model.

Heritage Customs has opened pre-orders for the Defender pickup, with a completion time of 2–3 months per vehicle. Customers will pay an additional €65,000 (approximately VND 1.96 billion) for the conversion, excluding the base vehicle’s price.

While not highly practical, the Defender pickup has quickly become a sensation among off-road enthusiasts. For many, it’s more than a vehicle—it’s a statement of individuality and a symbol of European custom car creativity.
