The Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is a high-performance open-top supercar, and unlike limited-edition models, Ferrari offers it widely to customers. This accessibility has made it easier for collectors and enthusiasts to own one, provided they’re willing to pay the premium over the manufacturer’s suggested retail price at international dealerships.
Previously, all three Ferrari 488 Pista Spiders spotted in Vietnam were finished in red. However, the recent appearance of a matte black variant in Ho Chi Minh City has quickly captured the attention of car enthusiasts. Speculations suggest it might be the third unit repainted, though no official confirmation has been provided by the owner.
The new matte black finish on this Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is undeniably striking, and the owner’s choice of matte over gloss black, complemented by dual white and red stripes running from the front to the rear, showcases exceptional taste.
The Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is the high-performance variant of the Ferrari 488 Spider convertible. Its arrival has allowed Vietnamese collectors to enhance their supercar collections, with three units already in the country.
Ferrari has meticulously optimized the 488 Pista Spider’s weight, achieving a total of just 1,380 kg—only 100 kg heavier than the Coupe variant. The key distinction from the Ferrari 488 Pista is its retractable hardtop, which can be operated in 14 to 16 seconds. Additionally, Ferrari has integrated a rear windscreen to minimize wind noise in the cabin.

The first Ferrari 488 Pista Spider to arrive in Vietnam holds the distinction of being the 50th open-top Ferrari supercar from Italy and boasts the most powerful V8 engine in Ferrari’s history at the time of its launch.
Powering the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider is a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine, similar to the standard model, but tuned to deliver a maximum output of 720 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm.
Compared to the Ferrari 488 Spider, the 488 Pista Spider gains an additional 39 horsepower. This is even more impressive when considering it surpasses its predecessor, the 458 Speciale Aperta, by 113 horsepower—a model limited to just 499 units.

Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch F1 transmission, the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider’s engine benefits from gear ratios optimized for quicker shifts, reducing shift times by 0.03 seconds compared to the 488 Pista.
This engineering prowess enables the 488 Pista Spider to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and achieve a top speed of 340 km/h.
