VF 7: Agile, Responsive, and Emotionally Engaging

Despite persistent rain, the recent VinFast Electric Vehicle Test Drive event at Mỹ Đình National Stadium drew a crowd of eager young customers patiently waiting for their turn. The wet conditions only heightened the excitement, turning every turn and maneuver into a true test of the vehicle’s grip and control capabilities.

The VinFast test drive event offered participants the chance to experience the VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 through a series of specialized driving challenges.

At the event, participants engaged in slalom tests to assess agility, rough terrain tests to evaluate ride comfort and chassis stability, acceleration and noise tests to measure responsiveness and engine quietness, and slippery road, regenerative braking, and ADAS tests to validate safety and control in heavy rain. While the VF 9 was the star of the show, the VF 7 and VF 8 also garnered significant attention from younger drivers.

Stepping out of the VF 7, Mr. Nguyễn Đức Phong (Hưng Yên) expressed his satisfaction. He succinctly described the compact C-segment SUV as “compact, responsive, and solid.” Having driven several gasoline vehicles in the same class, Mr. Phong acknowledged that the VF 7 offered a distinctly different driving experience.

“The rain made the roads extremely slippery, but the VF 7 maintained excellent grip. During the slalom test, the body remained stable, with no sliding or swaying. The acceleration was immediate yet controllable, providing a very connected feel to the road. I tested both rows of seats and felt securely held through tight turns—something many vehicles in this class struggle with,” Mr. Phong remarked.

In the slalom test, where drivers navigate through cones, the VF 7 demonstrated its advantage with a rigid body and quick response. The electronic stability control kept the vehicle steady during turns, while the instant torque from the electric motor delivered powerful and smooth acceleration. On slippery roads, the traction control system effectively maintained balance on wet surfaces. According to Mr. Phong, this boosted his confidence behind the wheel.

During the acceleration and noise test, Mr. Phong was impressed by the near-silent cabin. “When I pressed the accelerator, the vehicle surged forward without the loud roar typical of gasoline engines. No engine noise, no wind noise—just a smooth, gliding sensation,” he shared.

Based on his experience, Mr. Phong concluded that the VF 7 is designed for the dynamic young generation, offering both compactness for city driving and power and stability for long journeys.

VF 8: Powerful, Balanced, and Family-Friendly

Meanwhile, Mr. Hoàng Quốc Trương (Hà Nội) chose the VF 8 as “the vehicle that gives him the most peace of mind.”

“As someone focused on family, I prefer the VF 8. It’s powerful, with an electric motor delivering over 400 horsepower, providing a thrilling acceleration. Yet, the steering is smooth, and the ride is comfortable and balanced, ensuring passengers in the back feel at ease,” Mr. Trương explained.

Mr. Trương also praised the vehicle’s stability on wet roads. The full-time all-wheel-drive system and electronic stability control helped maintain balance and minimize wheel slip during turns. In the regenerative braking test, the VF 8 decelerated smoothly and quietly, offering a sense of safety and control.

Beyond performance, Mr. Trương was particularly impressed with the VF 8’s practicality. The spacious cabin, large high-resolution screen with an intuitive interface, quick cooling air conditioning, and excellent visibility made driving easier and more enjoyable. For young families, the VF 8 strikes the perfect balance between power and comfort on every journey.

The heavy rain in Hà Nội provided a real-world test for VinFast electric vehicles. Under harsher-than-expected conditions, the VF 7 and VF 8 performed consistently, responding quickly and safely—a testament to the quality of Vietnamese electric vehicles. According to many participants, this helps explain the continuous growth in VinFast electric vehicle sales, particularly the record-breaking 103,000 units sold in just nine months this year.
