GSM and VinBus Officially Launch School Bus – Vietnam’s First Dedicated Electric School Bus Service.
This is the only passenger transport service in the country fully compliant with the technical and safety standards for student transportation as per the 2024 Road Traffic Order and Safety Law, featuring a specially designed utility system.
School Bus is a collaboration between Vietnam’s top three green transportation brands: utilizing 100% VinFast electric vehicles, operated by VinBus, and powered by Xanh SM’s technology platform. The goal is to establish a standardized school transportation model that maximizes student safety.
The School Bus service operates using the EB 6 electric bus, a student-specific version.
The service employs the EB 6, VinFast’s latest compact passenger vehicle, featuring 19 spacious seats and a smooth, quiet, and emission-free ride. The EB 6 is specifically designed for school buses, fully complying with the technical and safety standards outlined in the 2024 Road Traffic Order and Safety Law.
The vehicle is equipped with the Secure to Safe (S2S) comprehensive safety monitoring system, including cameras at entry/exit points and the passenger cabin, GPS tracking, Face ID attendance technology, and post-trip cabin checks to ensure no student is left behind. All trip data is encrypted and securely shared with schools and operators for transparent management.

Additionally, the bus is fitted with air filters and quality sensors to ensure a healthy and comfortable environment throughout the journey.
Beyond technology, School Bus emphasizes the human element, with drivers and supervisors specially trained in safety skills, child psychology, and school conduct. Each trip adheres to VinBus’s five-step safety protocol, ensuring incident-free travel and peace of mind for parents and schools.
Mr. Timothy John Fryer, Principal of Vinschool, inspects the bus’s safety features.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Nhat, Deputy General Director of Operations at VinBus, stated, “Safety is VinBus’s top priority. Every technology and process in School Bus is designed to ensure student safety and comfort, while providing reassurance to parents and schools. For us, this is more than a transportation service; it’s the beginning of building a sustainable, modern green school transportation ecosystem. VinBus and GSM aim to foster a generation of students with a civilized travel mindset and environmental responsibility.”
Initially, the School Bus service will be available to Vinschool campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. By the 2026-2027 academic year, it will expand to other private and international schools nationwide. The service will also be integrated into the Xanh SM app, allowing parents to book services and track student pickup/drop-off in real-time, while adhering to school privacy policies.
