According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association, in October 2025, domestic consumers purchased a total of 37,910 vehicles, a 24% increase compared to the previous month. This figure does not include sales results from Hyundai Thanh Cong and VinFast.
The breakdown includes 27,246 passenger cars, 10,162 commercial vehicles, and 502 special-purpose vehicles. Compared to September 2025, passenger cars grew by 33%, commercial vehicles by 6.6%, and special-purpose vehicles decreased by 15%.
Domestically assembled vehicle sales reached 17,129 units, a 19% increase from the previous month. Completely built-up (CBU) imported vehicle sales totaled 20,781 units, up by 28%.
Although Vietnam’s automobile market continues to show positive signs, the top 10 slowest-selling car models in October 2025 remain largely unchanged, as detailed below.

Top 10 Slowest-Selling Cars in Vietnam, October 2025 (units: vehicles)
1. Honda Accord: 5 Units
October 2025 marked the return of the Honda Accord to the top spot among Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars. The mid-size sedan recorded sales of 5 units, unchanged from the previous month.

Honda Accord
The Honda Accord’s presence in this list is no longer surprising. Vietnamese consumers have shown little interest due to its high price, starting at 1.319 billion VND, with only one variant available. Additionally, the design and features have not been updated in a long time. The decline of the mid-size sedan segment in Vietnam, as consumer preferences shift, has further impacted the Honda Accord’s sales.
2. Ford Mustang Mach-E: 8 Units
October 2025 marked the second month of the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s availability in the Vietnamese market. It was also the second consecutive month the electric vehicle appeared among the top 10 slowest-selling cars. In October, the Ford Mustang Mach-E sold only 8 units, a 38.4% decline.

Ford Mustang Mach-E
Imported as a completely built-up unit, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has a starting price of 2.599 billion VND. This, coupled with the limited availability of charging stations in Vietnam, has led to lukewarm interest from Vietnamese consumers.
3. Suzuki Jimny: 17 Units
The Suzuki Jimny secured the third spot among Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars in October 2025, with 17 units sold, a 30.7% increase.

Suzuki Jimny
This performance can likely be attributed to the 95 million VND discount offered for the Jimny in October 2025. This was the highest discount since the model’s launch in the Vietnamese market in March 2024. The “mini Mercedes-Benz G-Class” continues to offer a similar discount in November.
The Suzuki Jimny remains a niche choice in Vietnam due to its high price, starting at 789 million VND, compact size, and basic convenience and safety features.
4. Kia Soluto: 22 Units
The Kia Soluto once again made the list of Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars. The subcompact sedan recorded 22 units sold in October, a 22.2% increase.

Kia Soluto
Unlike its competitors in the segment, such as the Honda City and Toyota Vios, the Kia Soluto has failed to gain traction in Vietnam due to its less appealing design and features.
5. Kia K5: 23 Units
The Kia K5 is the second Kia model on this list, following the Soluto. In October 2025, 23 units of the Kia K5 were sold, a 21% increase. The K5 is also the second mid-size sedan on the list, after the Honda Accord, further highlighting Vietnamese consumers’ diminishing interest in this segment.

6. Toyota Corolla Altis: 29 Units
The Toyota Corolla Altis ranked sixth among Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars in October 2025, with 29 units sold, a 70.5% increase. Despite this significant growth rate, the actual sales volume remains low, keeping the Toyota model on this list.

Toyota Corolla Altis
Like mid-size sedans, the compact sedan segment is no longer popular in Vietnam. Additionally, the Toyota Corolla Altis has lost its competitive edge due to its unchanged design and features over an extended period.
7. Kia Morning: 29 Units
October 2025 saw the return of the Kia Morning to the list of Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars. The model sold 29 units, matching the Toyota Corolla Altis, but with a 9.3% decrease from the previous month.

Kia Morning
In September 2025, the Kia Morning received an upgraded version with improved design and features. However, even the new variant has failed to boost sales for this city car.
8. Toyota Alphard: 31 Units
The Toyota Alphard is the second Toyota model on this list, following the Corolla Altis. It sold 31 units, a 6.8% increase.

Toyota Alphard
The Toyota Alphard’s presence among Vietnam’s slowest-selling cars is unsurprising. With prices ranging from 4.37 to 4.475 billion VND, this luxury MPV, dubbed the “airliner on the ground,” is not aimed at the mass market.
9. Isuzu mu-X: 33 Units
The Isuzu mu-X, another familiar face on this list, ranked ninth with 33 units sold, a 120% increase.

Isuzu mu-X
The Isuzu mu-X lacks a competitive edge in Vietnam due to its polarizing design. Additionally, the Isuzu brand is more closely associated with trucks than passenger vehicles.
10. Toyota Land Cruiser: 44 Units
The Toyota Land Cruiser is the third Toyota model on this list. In October 2025, it sold 44 units, a 36.2% decrease.

Toyota Land Cruiser
Similar to the Toyota Alphard, the Land Cruiser is a niche model in Vietnam due to its high price, starting at 4.58 billion VND. It is also imported as a completely built-up unit and often faces supply shortages at dealerships.
Dominating Sales Over 2 Rivals, Toyota Vios Regains Segment Leadership
With a staggering growth in sales, the Toyota Vios has cemented its position as the best-selling B-segment sedan. Its success story continues, leaving its competitors in the dust. Meanwhile, the Kia Soluto has taken over the spot of the slowest-selling car in the market, previously held by the Suzuki Ciaz.
