In April 2022, the Mercedes-AMG SL43 made its global debut, captivating enthusiasts with its sporty design, luxurious interior, and 100% ICE powertrain. This highly anticipated model left many car aficionados restless. A year later, it officially arrived in Vietnam with a price tag of nearly 7 billion VND, quickly finding its first buyers.
Just two years after its Vietnamese launch, the Mercedes-AMG SL43 unexpectedly saw a price drop. The manufacturer slashed 1.06 billion VND off its price, bringing it down to 5.9 billion VND. This sudden reduction left early buyers stunned and second-hand dealers facing significant losses.
Today’s feature is a rare red Mercedes-AMG SL43 convertible. The owner purchased it new in 2025 after failing to find a suitable pre-owned option. The purchase price exceeded 6 billion VND, with on-road costs reaching nearly 7.3 billion VND. However, after just 552 km, the owner decided to sell.
The asking price for this Mercedes-AMG SL43 is reportedly around 5.x billion VND, meaning the owner incurred a loss of nearly 2 billion VND within months. This presents a great opportunity for prospective buyers, as the car is virtually as good as new. It’s undoubtedly Vietnam’s most depreciated convertible.
The 7th-generation Mercedes-AMG SL43 convertible boasts an impressive front fascia. Its arched grille features vertical slats, centered around the iconic three-pointed star logo. The new triangular LED headlights and connected front air intakes, along with side air curtains and dual winglets, enhance its aggressive look.
This sporty model comes equipped with new dual-spoke alloy wheels, finished in silver with yellow brake calipers. At the rear, the SL43 features new LED taillights, a split trunk design to accommodate the folding roof, and symmetrical round dual exhaust tips.
A standout feature of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL43 is its soft-top roof, replacing the previous hardtop. This change reduces the car’s weight by 21 kg. The roof can be opened or closed in just 15 seconds at the push of a button, even while driving at speeds up to 60 km/h—a notable improvement over competitors’ 50 km/h limit.
Inside, the 7th-generation SL43 introduces significant changes. The sporty seats cradle the driver and front passenger, while the rear seats offer more comfort, ideal for children accompanying their parents. The 11.9-inch infotainment screen is fully customizable and tilt-adjustable to reduce glare, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Driving modes are controlled via a dial on the gearshift, and the exhaust sound customization system comes standard. The air vents are inspired by fighter jet engines, adding to the cabin’s sporty ambiance.
Powering the new SL43 is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 375 hp at 6,750 rpm and 480 Nm of torque between 3,250 and 5,000 rpm. An additional 13 hp is available temporarily via a mild-hybrid system. Paired with AMG’s 9-speed MCT automatic transmission, the SL43 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 275 km/h.
