Mitsubishi Vietnam has officially confirmed the launch of its 7-seater SUV, the Destinator, on December 1st in Ho Chi Minh City. This announcement follows the arrival of commercial units at the port in mid-November, signaling that the vehicle is ready for distribution.
Since October, Mitsubishi has been accepting deposits with a reservation fee of 10 million VND, along with a pre-launch package including heat-resistant film and a 3 million VND service voucher. Platinum-tier members of the loyalty program can enjoy total benefits of up to 33 million VND when booking before December 31st.
Leaked images reveal that the Vietnamese market Destinator will offer at least two configurations. The vehicle will be available in a range of colors, including red, black, gray, blue, and white. The premium variant is expected to feature two-tone alloy wheels, chrome window trim, and an ADAS camera on the windshield, while the standard version will sport darker wheels. In Indonesia, the model is offered in three variants: GLS, Exceed, and Ultimate.
Mitsubishi has yet to announce the official pricing, but the company promises a “competitive” price within the 7-seater SUV segment. Dealerships suggest an expected price above 700 million VND, depending on the variant, slightly higher than the converted price from the Indonesian market.
Destinator impresses with its robust exterior, well-proportioned body, and distinct SUV design language. It boasts a ground clearance of 214mm, one of the highest in its class, paired with 18-inch wheels for versatile performance across various terrains. The rear design exudes a commanding presence, seamlessly blending strength and practicality.
The Destinator’s cabin offers a true 7-seater experience with three rows of spacious seating, designed for flexibility to maximize luggage capacity. The highlight of the interior is the 12.3-inch infotainment screen, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and the Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system, delivering an immersive and premium experience. Smart features are strategically placed for easy access to entertainment and controls from all seating positions.
Mitsubishi equips the Destinator with a new 1.5L Turbocharged engine, promising powerful acceleration and responsive throttle feedback. The vehicle features five driving modes: Normal, Wet, Mud, Gravel, and the new Tarmac mode, optimized for highway driving and high-speed overtaking.
The Vietnamese variant of the Destinator is confirmed to include ADAS. If it mirrors the Indonesian configuration, this package will encompass adaptive cruise control, collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlights, and a 360-degree camera system.
