Jeep kicks off its 85th anniversary celebration by unveiling the 2026 Wrangler Moab 392, the first of 12 limited-edition Wrangler models planned for release.

This launch also highlights Jeep’s unique advantage over its rival, the Ford Bronco: the availability of a V8 engine option.

The Moab 392 2026 draws inspiration from the Jeep Easter Safari event in Moab, Utah, a tradition spanning over six decades. It features exterior upgrades such as a body-colored hardtop, rock rails, original-color wheel flares, and black tow hooks. The interior is equally refined, boasting heated Nappa leather seats and a premium Alpine sound system.

At the heart of the Moab 392 is the 6.4L Hemi V8 engine, initially slated to end production with the 2024 Final Edition. However, strong customer demand has led Jeep to continue offering this engine for 2025 and now in the 2026 model. The engine delivers 470 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque, consistent with previous years.

According to Jeep, the Wrangler Rubicon will no longer offer the V8 option. The Hemi engine is exclusively available on the Moab 392, starting at $79,995 (approximately 2.10 billion VND), which is about $20,000 (526.59 million VND) less than the 2025 Rubicon 392. It’s likely that the V8 engine will appear in other special editions during Jeep’s 85th-anniversary celebration, possibly even in a high-performance variant like the SRT.

The Moab 392’s drivetrain includes a dual-mode performance exhaust, a cold-air intake hood, an 8-speed ZF 8HP75 automatic transmission, a 4.56:1 rear axle ratio, and a 2.72:1 Selec-Trac transfer case. It rides on 17-inch beadlock wheels with 35-inch off-road tires and offers an optional Warn winch for off-road enthusiasts.

Off-road capability remains a standout feature, with front and rear Tru-Lok locking differentials, electronic sway bar disconnect, and a ground clearance of 11.1 inches (282 mm). These specifications solidify the Moab 392’s position as one of the most authentic off-road SUVs on the market.

Other Wrangler models receive minor updates, including a new hinge mechanism for quicker door removal, steel bumpers, and an optional Warn winch for the two-door Willys edition, along with new paint color options.

The engine lineup remains unchanged, featuring a 3.6L V6 (285 hp), a 2.0L turbocharged I4 (270 hp), and the V8 exclusive to the Moab 392. Only the V6 engine is paired with a manual transmission. Jeep has not reintroduced the 4xe hybrid option, as nearly 230,000 Wrangler plug-in hybrids from 2020–2025 are under recall due to fire risks, and the company is still working on a remedy.
