A Houston man’s first date ended in tragedy when a Porsche suddenly veered onto the sidewalk, striking him. The vehicle only came to a halt after crashing into a lamp post.

The driver of the Porsche 911 was identified as Kristina Chambers, a wealthy woman from the area. Chambers claimed that her $1,000 high heels got caught on the pedal, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. However, test results revealed that her blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit, rendering the “high heel” excuse virtually invalid.

Investigative evidence indicates that prior to the accident, Chambers had been drinking and driving at high speeds on a busy road. Court records show her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was ≥ 0.32%, far exceeding Texas’s legal limit.

In Texas, driving under the influence of alcohol is a criminal offense. While driving in high heels is not illegal, such footwear can hinder pedal operation, increasing the risk of losing control.

Following the trial, Chambers was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 11 years and 14 days in prison.
