In 2022, VinFast announced a bold shift, discontinuing gasoline-powered vehicles to focus exclusively on electric cars. Since then, the Vietnamese automaker has rapidly expanded its electric vehicle (EV) lineup, introducing models across various segments, including the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9.
After several years in the market, VinFast’s electric vehicles are set for a mid-cycle refresh. According to industry sources, the company plans to upgrade its entire EV lineup in 2026.
Details about the upgrades remain scarce, but it’s expected that the refreshed models will feature design enhancements and improved equipment. Additionally, the driving range on a single charge is likely to increase, addressing customer demands for greater efficiency and convenience.
Also in 2026, VinFast aims to launch the consumer version of its Limo Green MPV. Initially delivered to domestic customers in August 2025, the Limo Green is a fully electric, 7-seater vehicle designed primarily for ride-hailing services.
The Limo Green quickly gained traction, with cumulative sales reaching 6,504 units in September and October 2025. This success has prompted VinFast to introduce a consumer-focused version of the MPV in Vietnam next year.
Currently, the Limo Green is exclusively sold to businesses and ride-hailing operators, featuring basic equipment. The consumer version is expected to offer more premium features, likely at a higher price point. The current starting price for the Limo Green is 719 million VND.
Furthermore, VinFast is rumored to introduce new hybrid models in Vietnam next year. This speculation stems from a recent event hosted by Chinese tire manufacturer Sailun, which showcased VinFast-branded hybrid vehicle tires set to launch in Vietnam in 2026.
The new hybrids are rumored to be based on the VF 8 and VF 9 SUVs, potentially as Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs). In this configuration, a gasoline engine would act as a range extender, while electric motors would power the wheels.
VinFast has yet to confirm these rumors. However, if true, the hybrids would provide Vietnamese consumers with additional options, catering to those who prefer electric vehicles but are concerned about range limitations and charging times.
In October 2025 alone, VinFast delivered 20,380 electric vehicles to Vietnamese customers, marking the first time an automaker has sold over 20,000 units in a single month in Vietnam. This achievement brought VinFast’s total sales for the year to 124,264 vehicles nationwide.
