A stunning matte black Ferrari Portofino M convertible was recently spotted on the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam. Surprisingly, only two units of this model were imported into the country, both originally finished in Ferrari’s iconic Rosso Corsa red.
The owner of this particular Ferrari Portofino M opted for a bold matte black wrap, a departure from its original red hue. Previously, the car had been wrapped in yellow, showcasing the owner’s unique taste.
In 2008, Ferrari introduced its first dedicated convertible model, named the California. This moniker paid homage to the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder of the late 1950s and the 365 California of the 1960s.
Initially positioned as an entry-level model, the California introduced several design innovations and, notably, offered four seats—a rarity for Ferrari at the time. A decade later, the Portofino succeeded the California, making its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Like its predecessor, the Ferrari Portofino is exclusively available as a convertible, featuring a stylish and practical hardtop roof that avoids the long-term degradation issues associated with soft tops.

While the California enjoyed a 10-year production run, the Portofino was produced for just six years, from 2017 to 2023, with its production ending this year. The Portofino lineup includes the standard model and the mid-cycle upgrade, the Ferrari Portofino M, which succeeded the California T.
The “M” in Portofino M stands for “Modificata,” Italian for “modified,” reflecting the enhancements made to both the design and performance of this convertible supercar.
The Ferrari Portofino M retains the 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine but with optimizations that boost its maximum output to 612 horsepower, a 20 hp increase. Its peak torque remains at 760 Nm, matching the Ferrari Roma.
With this power, the Portofino M accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.45 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 9.8 seconds, topping out at 320 km/h.
Additionally, the Portofino M features Ferrari’s sixth-generation Side Slip Control system and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. This new gearbox is 20% smaller and handles 35% more torque than the previous 7-speed unit.
