Recently, Audi has officially confirmed the launch of the new-generation A6 in the Vietnamese market on December 4th.
This marks the sixth generation of the luxury sedan, first unveiled globally in March 2025 with the wagon variant, followed by the sedan version a month later.
In Vietnam, Audi is likely to focus on distributing the sedan variant to cater to local preferences, emphasizing the elegance and practicality of the four-door configuration.
The 2026 Audi A6 boasts overall dimensions of 4,999 x 1,875 x 1,472 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,923 mm. Compared to the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the A6 is longer but has a shorter wheelbase than both German rivals, the E-Class and BMW 5-Series. This promises a unique interior space, particularly in the rear seating area.
Built on the PPC platform, also used in the new A5 available in Vietnam, the A6’s exterior design embodies Audi’s modern aesthetic. It features a large Singleframe grille, sharp LED matrix headlights, and enlarged air intakes for improved aerodynamics. Audi claims the new A6 achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.23 Cd, making it the most aerodynamically efficient internal combustion vehicle in the brand’s history.
Inside, the 2026 A6’s cabin is designed with maximum digitalization, featuring a horizontal layout of three screens. The driver’s display measures 11.9 inches, the central infotainment screen is 14.5 inches, and a 10.9-inch screen is dedicated to the passenger. This arrangement is becoming the new standard in the luxury sedan segment. Internationally, the A6 offers a large HUD, instant color-changing panoramic sunroof, sustainable interior materials, ambient lighting, a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, wireless charging, and four-zone climate control. Specific configurations for Vietnam will be announced at the launch event.
The powertrain options for the Vietnamese market remain unconfirmed. Globally, the new-generation Audi A6 offers three engine choices: gasoline, diesel, and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). Both gasoline and diesel variants feature mild-hybrid technology for enhanced efficiency, delivering between 201 and 362 horsepower and 340 to 550 Nm of torque.
The PHEV variant combines a 2.0L engine with a 20.7 kWh battery, ideal for daily electric commuting while maintaining long-distance capability.
Speculation suggests the 2026 Audi A6 in Vietnam will likely feature a 2.0L mild-hybrid gasoline engine, balancing performance, fuel efficiency, and competitiveness in its segment.
As the new generation arrives, the 2025 Audi A6 currently available in Vietnam offers only the S line 40 TFSI variant, imported from Germany, priced from 2.299 billion VND. Its direct competitors include the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series, and Lexus ES.
