On November 29, 2025, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam made a surprising announcement: the first two models to be assembled in Vietnam upon the completion of their factory will be the Omoda 4 and Jaecoo J5.
This announcement not only excited over 300 attendees from the Omoda & Jaecoo community but also marked a strategic milestone in the brand’s long-term development in Vietnam.
Omoda & Jaecoo Factory – The Foundation for the “In Vietnam, For Vietnam” Strategy
During the event, Mr. Nguyễn Đăng Quang, Deputy General Director of Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam, emphasized that assembling the first two models in Vietnam is just the beginning of their long-term localization strategy. The Omoda & Jaecoo factory in Hưng Yên, currently on schedule, is positioned as a key project to create tangible value for Vietnam’s automotive industry.
According to Mr. Quang, the factory will not only enable Omoda & Jaecoo to streamline production, shorten supply chains, and enhance service quality for the domestic market but also play a crucial role in technology transfer, high-quality workforce training, and increasing localization rates. These elements are fundamental to fulfilling the brand’s commitment to “In Vietnam, For Vietnam”: producing in Vietnam to meet Vietnamese consumers’ needs first, delivering globally advanced vehicles optimized for the local market.
In the long term, once production capacity stabilizes and the supporting industrial ecosystem matures, the Hưng Yên factory will serve as a launchpad for Omoda & Jaecoo to position Vietnam as a regional production hub, aiming for exports to neighboring countries and beyond.
Omoda 4 and Jaecoo J5 – Strategic Choices for the Initial Assembly Phase
At the event, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam unveiled the first two models slated for assembly: the Omoda 4 and Jaecoo J5. Both belong to the B+ SUV segment, featuring modern designs, smart technology, and targeting young, tech-savvy, and adventure-loving consumers.
The choice of the B+ segment for the initial assembly phase highlights Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam’s clear strategy: to target a large, rapidly growing customer base seeking advanced, safe, and intelligent vehicles. The introduction of these models has generated significant excitement within the Omoda & Jaecoo community in Vietnam.
The event’s key message extends beyond new products, emphasizing Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable investment in Vietnam. In just over a year, the brand has established a network of nearly 40 nationwide distributors, launched three models in its first year, built a robust user community, implemented industry-leading after-sales policies, and commenced construction of the Hưng Yên factory under a “Green Factory – Clean Ecosystem” model. Additionally, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam plans to introduce 16 new models in 2026.
