Recently, Toyota Vietnam’s official fanpage teased an upcoming vehicle with the letters “INN…” This move strongly suggests the introduction of a new Innova Cross variant, aligning with recent speculations.
Currently, the Innova Cross is available in two versions: the Innova Cross V (gasoline) priced at 825 million VND and the Innova Cross HEV (hybrid) at 1.005 billion VND. These prices are considered out of reach for traditional customers who previously opted for the Innova E MT for commercial use.
Therefore, Toyota’s plan to launch a more affordable standard version, expected to be priced between 750–755 million VND, is seen as a strategic move to fill the gap in the service-oriented MPV segment.
According to insider sources, the new variant is likely to be named the Innova Cross 2.0G, positioned below the existing 2.0V and 2.0HEV models.
The Innova Cross 2.0G is expected to retain the 2.0L gasoline engine, delivering 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, similar to the current Innova Cross V. Paired with an automatic transmission, this setup offers a smoother urban driving experience compared to the manual transmission of the previous Innova E MT.
As the entry-level variant, the Innova Cross 2.0G will feature simplified equipment to optimize costs. The exterior retains LED headlights and taillights but omits daytime running lights. Wheel size is reduced to 16 inches, down from 17 inches on the 2.0V and 18 inches on the hybrid 2.0HEV.
Inside, the Innova Cross 2.0G is expected to feature an analog instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch TFT screen, replacing the 7-inch digital display. The steering wheel lacks leather wrapping and paddle shifters, while the driver’s seat is manually adjustable. The center infotainment screen is reduced to 8 inches, and the rear trunk is manually operated. The vehicle includes only a reverse camera and lacks a tire pressure monitoring system. Premium features such as a sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense package, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are unlikely to be included in this variant.
This entry-level variant is expected to offer an accessible price point, catering to commercial transport customers—the same demographic that contributed to the success of previous Innova generations.
The new standard Innova Cross is slated for launch in December 2025, with deliveries expected before the Lunar New Year.
