Writing for CleanTechnica, journalist Raymond G. Tribdino observes that VinFast is undergoing a comprehensive transformation, marked by strategic investments and a shift in management philosophy, continuously raising standards and refining processes.

According to the author, this approach is laying a solid foundation for VinFast’s global expansion.

Accelerating Investments for Breakthroughs

Recently, CleanTechnica, a leading U.S. green technology news site, published an editorial titled “Why VinFast is Investing Boldly to ‘Reach for the Stars.’” The piece was penned by veteran automotive and technology writer Raymond Tribdino, who boasts over 20 years of experience. Tribdino has visited VinFast’s Hai Phong manufacturing complex three times, most recently this year.

Returning to the complex after three years (2022–2025), Tribdino noted that VinFast has made “significant strides in production, research, and development in Vietnam. This is not merely progress but a full-scale transformation.”

Analyzing recent financial results and expert opinions, Tribdino highlights VinFast’s substantial short-term investments in three key areas: building an extensive showroom and dealership network, launching innovative marketing campaigns, and funding R&D for next-generation vehicle development.

“Looking back, this is a sound investment,” Tribdino quotes an expert. He emphasizes that VinFast’s financial reports demonstrate strategic spending: investing heavily now to conquer the global electric vehicle market later.

CleanTechnica reports that VinFast’s operations are accelerating rapidly. In the first half of 2025, the company delivered 72,167 electric vehicles, a 223% increase year-over-year. Including electric two-wheelers, total deliveries reached 114,484 units, up 447%.

The author notes that VinFast currently operates 394 showrooms globally and cites a recent announcement that the company delivered 20,380 vehicles in October, bringing Vietnam’s 10-month total for 2025 to 124,264 units.

Admiring VinFast’s Transformation

In a previous CleanTechnica article on November 1, Tribdino described the remarkable changes at VinFast’s Hai Phong complex. “The factory that impressed me with its ambition in 2022 now commands respect for its execution,” he wrote.

CleanTechnica acknowledges that VinFast has mastered technology, designing its own battery management systems, researching thermal management systems, and collaborating with international partners to develop battery chemistry, taking a more proactive role.

VinFast’s highly automated manufacturing complex

VinFast has also implemented an AI-powered quality control system to detect micro-defects, shifting its quality management philosophy from inspection to error prevention at the source.

“While the changes in the battery plant are impressive, the transformation in the stamping workshop is even more remarkable. Each stamping machine has been recalibrated with micrometric precision, a level of accuracy I’ve only seen in German or Japanese facilities with decades of refinement,” the article states.

According to Tribdino, the real change lies in mindset. In 2022, quality control occurred at inspection stations. By 2025, quality is embedded in every step of the process.

“The vehicle bodies coming off the line in 2025 meet the standards of any premium vehicle in any market. The fit and finish are truly exceptional,” he writes.

Tribdino attributes this extraordinary transformation to Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong’s philosophy of addressing errors immediately. This mindset has permeated the entire organization.
