Vietnam’s electric motorcycle market is buzzing as the country embraces its green transition with new regulations.
Amid this shift, Honda has launched an enticing promotion for its ICON e: model. Customers purchasing the bike in December will enjoy a direct discount of VND 5 million. Post-discount, the price drops to an attractive VND 21.9–22.3 million, excluding the battery.
Despite becoming more accessible, the ICON e: remains on the higher end of the price spectrum compared to entry-level electric bikes targeting students. VinFast, for instance, offers its Zgoo and Flazz models at VND 14.9–16 million, inclusive of batteries.
Honda provides two battery options for the ICON e:: a monthly rental at VND 350,000 or a one-time purchase for VND 9.8 million. Opting to buy the battery pushes the total ownership cost to nearly VND 37 million pre-discount. However, the ICON e: stands out thanks to Honda’s brand reputation and its rental scheme, which includes comprehensive insurance coverage—civil liability, personal accident, and battery damage protection.
Performance-wise, the Honda ICON e: features a rear-wheel-mounted electric motor delivering a peak output of 1.5 kW and 85 Nm of torque. With a top speed of 48 km/h and a 71 km range on an 8-hour full charge, it’s ideally suited for urban commuters and young riders navigating short distances.
