Recently, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam announced plans to launch 16 entirely new models by 2026, positioning itself as the most diverse Chinese automotive brand ever to enter the Vietnamese market.

This extensive lineup encompasses all four powertrain types: gasoline, hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV/SHS), and pure electric (BEV). The range spans urban SUVs, sporty SUVs, off-road vehicles, and next-generation green cars.

Among the anticipated releases, the Jaecoo J8 has garnered significant attention. This mid-size SUV boasts dimensions of 4,820 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,699 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Compared to the Mazda CX-8, it’s 80 mm shorter but 90 mm wider, emphasizing a commanding horizontal presence.

The Jaecoo J8’s exterior exudes robustness, featuring a large vertical-slat grille, horizontal LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, and prominently sculpted air intakes. The 20-inch alloy wheels enhance its sporty appeal, while the rear design impresses with a large spoiler, extended LED taillights, and a neatly arranged dual-layer light cluster.

The interior of the Jaecoo J8 PHEV is designed with modernity and luxury in mind. The 6-seater configuration includes two captain’s chairs in the second row, ensuring a comfortable experience. The cabin combines leather and wood trim for a premium feel. A dual 12.3-inch screen setup dominates the dashboard, featuring a digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Additional amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat vents, a HUD display, and streamlined controls for enhanced convenience.

In international markets, the Jaecoo J8 is equipped with a PHEV powertrain, combining a 1.5L TGDi gasoline engine with dual electric motors on each axle. The total system output reaches 605 horsepower and 915 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds. Under the NEDC standard, the J8 PHEV offers an all-electric range of 175 km, while the combined gasoline-electric range extends to 1,321 km.

The vehicle supports fast DC charging via a CCS2 port and includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power household appliances when needed.

With its powerful performance and advanced features, the Jaecoo J8 is poised to make a significant impact upon its official launch in Vietnam.
