After establishing its appeal in Vietnam, VinFast is now taking Limo Green international, with Indonesia as its first destination.

In a country renowned as the “MPV hub” of the region, the Limo Green is likely to be rebranded with a new name suggested by local consumers.

At the recently held Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025, the Vietnamese automaker showcased not only this 7-seater MPV but also the electric pickup truck Wild Concept. Representatives from VinFast Indonesia stated that these two models are part of the company’s strategy to expand its product lineup in what is considered one of the most critical markets in the region.

The spotlight at GJAW 2025 was largely on the Limo Green. This is unsurprising, given that Indonesia has long been Southeast Asia’s largest MPV market, with this segment accounting for over half of annual new car sales. The introduction of a fully electric MPV has thus garnered significant attention from both media and local consumers.

The Limo Green retains its familiar design, catering to families and businesses in the transportation sector, offering a spacious interior and low operating costs. In Vietnam, this electric MPV has had a promising start, with over 6,500 units delivered in the first three months of sales. VinFast reports that it is accelerating production to meet the high demand.

The Indonesian version remains largely unchanged in design compared to the Vietnamese model. However, VinFast has hinted that the vehicle’s name will be adjusted to align with local preferences, potentially based on suggestions from Indonesian consumers. The company encourages customers to submit naming ideas through sales representatives or its online channels in Indonesia.

Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, explained that inviting public participation in naming the vehicle is a way for the company to listen to the market and foster a connection with customers from the product’s introduction. He emphasized that the launch of new models demonstrates VinFast’s commitment to continuously adapting to the needs of each market.
