Recently, Mercedes-Benz has opened an interest registration section for the GLC EV on its official website.

This SUV, powered by the latest EQ Technology, made its global debut in September. This move signals that the launch of the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV in the Southeast Asian market is imminent.

Compared to its gasoline-powered counterpart, the Mercedes-Benz GLC EV boasts significantly larger dimensions, measuring 4,845 mm in length, 1,913 mm in width, and 1,644 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,972 mm.

Its distinctive design is highlighted by a radiant matrix grille featuring 942 LED points, creating a unique lighting effect upon startup.

The Digital Light headlamps incorporate three-pointed star-shaped daytime running lights, seamlessly matching the rear LED lights—a signature of Mercedes-Benz’s modern design language. The large air intakes and sporty rear diffuser ensure the electric SUV retains the robust aesthetic of the traditional GLC lineup.

Inside, the GLC EV impresses with its 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, spanning nearly the entire width of the dashboard. The electronic gear selector is positioned behind the steering wheel, complemented by dual wireless charging pads and premium white leather upholstery, exuding modernity and luxury.

In addition to the primary luggage compartment with a standard capacity of 570 liters, the GLC EQ features a 128-liter front storage area, offering flexible cargo arrangement. Folding the rear seats expands the total cargo volume to an impressive 1,740 liters.

Powering the GLC EV are dual electric motors delivering 489 horsepower and a maximum torque of 808 Nm, paired with an all-wheel-drive system. This setup enables a rapid 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.3 seconds.

The 94 kWh battery pack provides a maximum range of 713 km on a single charge, setting a new benchmark in the luxury electric SUV segment. Thanks to its 800V architecture, the vehicle supports fast charging at 320-330 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes.

The early introduction of the GLC EV in Malaysia suggests its arrival in Vietnam is on the horizon. In Vietnam, the midsize SUV segment is fiercely competitive, with the latest generations of the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 already available. The upcoming GLC EV will intensify the rivalry among premium electric SUVs, offering consumers an expanded range of eco-friendly options.
