Toyota has unveiled the first details of the GR GT, the latest high-performance model from its Gazoo Racing division.

This production-ready variant evolves from the GR GT Concept, designed as a street-legal race car.

The GR GT embodies the grand tourer aesthetic with its extended hood and aerodynamic, sharply sculpted body. Dimensions are 4,820 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,195 mm in height, with a 2,725 mm wheelbase. It features 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, exclusively developed for optimal grip. The braking system includes carbon-ceramic rotors and high-performance Brembo calipers, ensuring efficient heat dissipation and stability at high speeds.

The rear design features large air vents inspired by the Lexus LFA, enhancing aerodynamics and brand identity. A slim LED light bar spans the width of the rear, creating a cohesive look. The exhaust system is finely tuned to match the V8 hybrid engine’s power with a distinctive sound, emphasizing the emotional driving experience Toyota aims to deliver in this flagship sports car.

The GR GT cockpit adopts a minimalist design, focusing entirely on the driver. Controls, displays, and seating are ergonomically positioned for intuitive operation and quick access. The two-seat configuration underscores its pure sports car intent.

The digital instrument cluster features custom graphics, displaying critical data such as RPM, gear position, and shift indicators. Recaro carbon fiber bucket seats provide exceptional support during acceleration, upholstered in Alcantara and leather. The dashboard, door panels, and armrests also feature premium leather, ensuring a cohesive and luxurious interior.

Powering the Toyota GR GT is a hybrid system combining a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 650 horsepower and over 850 Nm of torque. This setup is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, optimizing weight distribution and high-speed traction.

Toyota confirms the GR GT is still in development and may receive further refinements before commercial production. The global launch is scheduled for 2027.
