Recently, Ford has unveiled a mid-cycle refresh for its full-size SUV, the Ford Explorer.

The 2026 Explorer retains its overall dimensions, measuring 5,064 mm in length, 2,004 mm in width, 1,790 mm in height, and with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm, maintaining its commanding presence as a 7-seater SUV.

The most noticeable change is in the front-end design. The 2026 Explorer features a new frameless grille with horizontal bars and chrome accents, adding visual depth. This grille seamlessly integrates with the redesigned headlights, creating a more cohesive look compared to its predecessor. Above, a full-width LED light bar enhances recognition and gives the front fascia a modern, sharp appearance. The redesigned H-shaped front bumper replaces the previous rounded style, while vertical air intakes on either side, accented in black, create a continuous effect with the grille, boosting its sporty appeal.

At the rear, Ford has refined the bumper with prominent vertical lines, lending a more robust look. The exhaust tips are now fully integrated into the underbody, providing a cleaner and more elegant rear profile.

The interior of the 2026 Explorer for the Chinese market remains undisclosed. However, following recent Ford upgrades, the cabin is expected to receive subtle enhancements in materials and amenities to bolster its competitiveness in the full-size SUV segment.

Powering the SUV is a 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 289 horsepower and 425 Nm of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, it offers rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The Explorer includes driving modes such as Road, Gravel, Grass, Snow, Rocks, and Mountain.

The Ford Explorer 2026 is scheduled for its official debut in China in Q1 2026, with pricing to be announced upon release.
