Alongside the large SUV CX-90, Thaco Auto has confirmed the introduction of the Mazda CX-60 to the Vietnamese market in April 2026.
The Mazda CX-60 measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,683 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. These dimensions place the CX-60 in the C+ SUV segment, larger than the CX-5 but smaller than the CX-8. It caters to customers seeking a more compact SUV than the D-segment while still offering a spacious interior.
Compared to the CX-5 and CX-8, the CX-60 boasts a distinct exterior design. Its European-inspired styling features an extended front end, large wheel arches, and a cabin pushed further back, creating a more athletic and balanced silhouette. This design approach aligns the CX-60 with the aesthetics of premium European SUVs.
Inside the cabin, the CX-60 showcases a more upscale design philosophy compared to existing Mazda SUVs. Adopting the Human Centric concept, it prioritizes optimal seating positions, visibility, and intuitive control layouts, ensuring a comfortable and user-friendly driving experience.
A notable feature is the driver recognition system utilizing a camera. This technology automatically adjusts seat positions, steering wheel settings, and display preferences based on individual driver profiles, enhancing convenience, especially for multi-driver households.
The Mazda CX-60 features two 12.3-inch digital displays: a fully digital instrument cluster and a seamless center infotainment screen. A standard head-up display (HUD) complements the setup, while retaining some physical buttons for user convenience.
Powering the CX-60 are two powertrain options. The first is a 3.3L e-Skyactiv M-Hybrid turbocharged inline-six engine producing 280 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The second is a plug-in hybrid combining a 2.5L e-Skyactiv gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 323 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, along with an electric-only range of approximately 42 kilometers.
Both variants are paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission and Mazda’s i-Activ AWD all-wheel-drive system. The Mi-Drive system offers driving modes including Normal, Sport, Off-road, and EV (for the PHEV), catering to diverse driving conditions.
In terms of safety, the Mazda CX-60 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera system, and seven airbags, meeting the safety standards expected in the premium SUV segment.
Pricing for the Vietnamese market remains undisclosed. Given its positioning and features, the CX-60 is likely to be priced higher than the CX-8, which currently ranges from 949 million to 1.149 billion VND.
