The mid-size sedan segment has lost its luster in Vietnam’s automotive market. However, as the market rebounds, this segment is showing signs of growth, with November 2025 being a prime example.

Toyota Camry: 252 Units
The mid-size sedan segment in Vietnam now offers fewer options than before. Yet, when it comes to purchasing a mid-size sedan, Vietnamese consumers still think of the Toyota Camry first. November 2025 was no exception.
Last month, Toyota sold 252 Camry units in Vietnam, marking a 10% growth. This achievement solidified the Camry’s position as the best-selling mid-size sedan in Vietnam for 2025.
Toyota Camry
The Camry’s success can be partly attributed to Toyota’s aggressive promotional campaign in November 2025, offering discounts of up to 150 million VND. The company has extended this promotion into December.
The Toyota Camry in Vietnam is available in four variants, priced at the higher end of the segment, ranging from 1.22 to 1.53 billion VND. Despite its premium pricing, the Camry remains popular due to its youthful design, enhanced features, reputable brand, proven durability, and high resale value.
This mid-size sedan offers two engine options. The first is a 2.0L naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 170 horsepower and 206 Nm of torque, paired with an E-CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second option is a hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine with 184 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque, combined with a 100 kW electric motor generating 202 Nm and a lithium-ion battery.
Kia K5: 33 Units
The Kia K5 secured the second spot in the mid-size sedan segment, selling 33 units, a 43.4% increase. However, its sales volume remains modest, placing it among the top 10 slowest-selling cars in Vietnam for November 2025. Its performance also pales in comparison to the segment leader, the Toyota Camry.

Compared to the Toyota Camry, the Kia K5 is significantly more affordable, priced between 849 and 957 million VND. Unfortunately, the Camry’s dominance in the mid-size sedan segment leaves little room for the K5 to compete.
Beyond its attractive pricing, the Kia K5 boasts a sporty, modern design and a wealth of features. It comes equipped with LED lighting, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, power-adjustable passenger seat, a head-up display (HUD), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, and wireless phone charging.
Under the hood, the K5 offers two engine options. The first is a 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering 150 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The second is a 2.5L four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 191 horsepower and 246 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Honda Accord: 8 Units
The Honda Accord recorded the highest sales growth rate in the segment, at 60%. However, its sales volume was the lowest, with only 8 units sold, making it the least popular model in the mid-size sedan segment and the broader Vietnamese automotive market.

The Honda Accord faces several challenges in Vietnam, including its high starting price of 1.319 billion VND and the availability of only one variant. Additionally, the model has not received significant design or feature updates in a long time.
Its strength lies in its highly regarded driving dynamics within the segment. The Accord is powered by a single engine option: a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, generating 188 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and offers two driving modes: Eco and Sport.
