Vietnam’s electric motorcycle market enters its peak year-end shopping season with notable promotions, as the entry-level electric bike segment sees significant price adjustments.

Two names frequently mentioned recently are the Honda Icon e: and Evo Grand Lite, both offering promotional policies to boost demand and expand their customer base during this critical year-end period.

The Honda Icon e: is now available at a much lower price compared to its launch. Initially introduced at around VND 27 million with a battery rental option of VND 350,000 per month, it is now discounted by over VND 10 million, bringing the actual price down to approximately VND 17 million. This is the lowest price since the Icon e: entered the market, making Honda’s first electric motorcycle in Vietnam more accessible to the general public.

The Icon e: maintains its dual battery policy. Customers can either rent the battery for a fixed monthly fee, ideal for those looking to minimize upfront costs and not concerned with battery ownership, or purchase the NMC battery with a capacity of approximately 1.4 kWh for nearly VND 10 million, which comes with a one-year warranty. Including the battery cost, the total ownership value remains around VND 26-27 million, with the key difference being the flexibility to choose the most suitable option for individual needs.

With its significant price reduction, the Icon e: continues to leverage Honda’s established advantages. Its neutral design is approachable and suits a wide range of urban users. The build quality and performance are consistently reliable, providing peace of mind for those transitioning from gasoline to electric motorcycles. However, the battery capacity and range are moderate, primarily catering to daily urban commuting needs.

Meanwhile, the VinFast Evo Grand Lite also joins the year-end promotions with an attractive price point. Originally priced at around VND 18 million, a 12% discount until December 31 brings the actual price down to approximately VND 15.84 million. This price includes the battery, offering consumers a clear upfront cost without additional considerations for battery rental or purchase.

Powered by a 1,900W in-hub motor in the rear wheel, the Evo Grand Lite has an electronically limited top speed of 48 km/h, suitable for students or those without a driver’s license. It comes with a 1.2 kWh battery, providing a range of 70 km per full charge. Customers can also purchase an additional 2.4 kWh battery, extending the maximum range to 198 km per full charge.

In summary, year-end promotions have made both the Honda Icon e: and Evo Grand Lite significantly more competitive compared to earlier in the year. The Icon e: stands out with its deep discount, strong brand reputation, and familiar user experience, while the Evo Grand Lite attracts attention with its low price, high-capacity battery, and extended warranty. As the electric motorcycle market grows increasingly dynamic, these promotions not only make electric bikes more accessible but also reflect a shift in competition toward cost-effectiveness and real-world value, rather than just technology or design.
